Screaming and shouting, clashing of blades, stampeding feet, explosions, roaring, this was all I heard.
Was I still alive?
I was sure I took a deep stab to the neck but surprisingly enough, I feel no pain there.
Was it all a dream?
Maybe it was, I kind of wish it was. I may have hated my family but there were so many other thing that I could have used their title for.
Oh well, I guess if I managed to survive then I might as well continue to do so.
Opening my eyes, I saw myself in a completely different surrounding. All the sounds I heard, those were the sounds of war.
"Save the child! We never know what use it could have!" I heard from my left.
"But Commander Shiec! The child is a commoner, we can't bring a child like that to the capital!" Another one yelled.
"What am I to you soldier?"
"What do you mean? You are my Commander, mam!" The soldier yelled.
"Knowing this, you still dare question my orders?! Grab the child now! I'll deal with you once we get back! Now!!!"
I hear a sound of footsteps coming towards me. Suddenly, someone carries me with such ease and starts running with me. This person must have been a giant because when I looked at him, it was as though I was really tiny compared to him.
I tried to push him off but to no avail. That was when I looked at my hands and realized that these weren't my hands. My hands were filled with bruises but these arms were like that of a babies.
I tried to talk but all I could do was make muffled and non-understandable words. I sounded like a new born.
Could I have gone back to the time when I was a baby?
No, I vividly remember my birth. I was born in the Palace with countless nobles surrounding me, along with my cousin, the princess.
I must have reincarnated, seeing that this isn't a familiar surrounding and that I'm a baby.
But the worst part of it all is that I'm a commoner. I have no power and no place in society.
Am I really expected to survive?
Without knowing, I had bursted into tears. It was embarrassing because I couldn't stop it.
The soldier carrying me looked at me with eyes of disgust.
It must have been because I was a commoner but had the audacity to cry.
I stopped crying and gave him my hardest punch. I bet it felt like a light ball hit his chest but I got my revenge.
I hated that look of disgust that I had always received my whole life but I couldn't express my feelings since I was the daughter of a Beta and had to keep up good image.
The soldiers expression lightened when I gave him the punch. It was evident that he wanted to smile and that was when I realized that this man was beyond beauty, my eyes burned by just looking at him.
He had black hair but in a school boys hairstyle and white eyes that looked like the moon. That was the first time I had ever seen those colour of eyes. His skin was a fair white and was so tender and smooth.
I wanted to caress his face but instead I ended up yanking his hair up and down.
He looked annoyed and pulled me to his front view and said, "Stop being a nuisance, I have a war to fight but instead I was sent to take care of someone like yourself so pull yourself together, we're almost at the borders to our territory."
He was mean, it was like he didn't know he was talking to a baby.
I wanted to annoy him more but we had already passed the borders and he jumped into a huge van.
He had placed himself on a seat with me on his lap and I saw several other people in the van with children too.
We were all in a circular seating arrangement with one person in the middle who I had assumed was the commander.
The commander cleared her voice and said, " We have completed our mission."
Everyone rejoiced and shouted, "ūß!" Meaning salpo, a word used to indicate that a war has ended.
"Not only that, but we also have the least number of casualties in our history! I'm sure soldier Henry has something to say." The commander smirked.
The soldier Henry she was talking about was the one carrying me.
He looked at me coldly then back to the commander, "What are we supposed to do with these things?" He asked while holding me up.
The room went silent, no one dared utter a word because they knew they didnt have the guts this guy had.
Even I could tell this was insolence. To dare question a commander who is of higher ranking than him is a grave sin.
The commander stood up and looked around, "What do you think? We retrieved children from a fallen country as our reward. Of course we're gonna put them to use. The number of soldier we have in the army are depleting so we'll train them and increase our numbers. We'll train them on the outskirts of the imperial borders. We'll train them to their fullest and have them join the imperial army near their coming of age ceremonies. Sadly, not all of them will get to go when they want, once one of them clocks seventeen, the rest will follow suit. I'm assigning a child to each and every one of you. If by the time the seventeen years of age are up, you'll be executed along with your child. Starting with you Henry, you get the child in your hands." She said with a smirk.
I was delighted but I didnt know about the hot piece of shit holding me.
But you see, that wasnt what bothered me, what bothered me was if I didn't have great wolf potential once again. Since I'm a commoner, there won't be anything holding them back from executing me.
What if I die again?
