A Promise To Be Broken.

Continued to Millie's POV

After dinner I washed the dishes, Fred helped me out by drying and putting them away. Fred got his coat and put it on, as I took my coat from the hook on the wall, put it on and zipped it up.

"You ready?" he asked me as he turned around after opening the door "Merlin, you seriously look amazing"

"Wish I could say the same about you Freddie" I teased him and walked through the front door.

"Charming as always Miss Black" he nodded and closed the door behind us.

I took his arm in mine and the world started spinning quickly. We apparated from the alley to the dock that lead out to the middle of the lake beside Hogwarts. I looked around and immediately noticed that things had changed. It was a lot quiter, a lot darker. Everything seemed dead, everything was slowly dying. And it was heartbreaking to see.

"Guess you could say we brightened the place up while we were here" Fred spoke up as he also looked around.

"Yeah tell me about it" I sighed "Right, best get going then"

"Yes boss" Fred nodded and we walked away and off of the dock. We walked through the wet grass, and past what was Hagrid's hut, followed by Hagrid sat in front of it.

"Hey Hagrid" I said gently as we approached him.

"Well hello you two, have a seat" he said turning his head to us and pulling over two stools for us to sit "Nice to see some friendly and familiar faces around here for once. How have you been?"

"Not the best I'm not going to lie to you Hagrid, life's hell at this point" Fred sighed and crossed his arms.

"Same here. Since Snape became headmaster, it's been horrible here. Dead quiet. Say, how's George and Andromeda, still together?" he asked us.

"Yeah, they're engaged now. The wedding is in April, they haven't sent the invites out yet but you're invited if you want to come" I smiled at him.

"Oh I'd love to" he smiled with a nod.

"Say, what happened here? If you don't mind me asking" Fred mentioned about the hut that was falling to pieces.

"Oh that. Last year, Bellatrix Lestrange lit it up like a bonfire. Haven't been able to build it back up since" he said looking down.

"I'm so sorry Hagrid, really I am" I spoke up and walked over to him, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"No no, not your fault at all Millie. Now go along you two, don't let me hold you guys up" he sighed and gestured us away with a smile.

"Good to see you mate" Fred nodded as he stood up and took my hand in his as we walked away and up to the courtyard.

"Trip down memory lane eh?" Fred chuckled slightly.

"Come on you" I giggled and dragged him by his hand and ran through the school hallways, like we used to do as the four of us together.

We spent the day avoiding teachers, running through hallways, bumping into Filch and running from him again a couple of times. It was all going well without getting caught for a while before we ran around a corner and ran into no one else, but Professor McGonagall.

"Hello" I whispered and giggled nervously as we saw her around the corner.

"Causing mischief again I suppose?" she spoke raising an eyebrow in suspicion.

We just let out a nervous laugh, not knowing what to say.

"It's nice to see some actual happiness here. It's just good to have you back, even if it's only for a couple of hours" she smiled before walking away and leaving us alone.

I looked up at Fred with my mouth open from Minnie's reaction and we both burst out laughing.

"Can we go somewhere? I want to check if it's still here" Fred asked me holding my hand again.

"If what's still here Freddie?" I asked in confusion and squeezed his hand gently.

"Do you trust me?" he asked me raising an eyebrow.

"Hell no" I replied with a scoff.

"Good" he smiled and pulled me along with him, running down many staircases and through many hallways, until we reached the second floor girls lavatory. He walked me around and lead me down to a secret tunnel underground. We kept walking through the tunnels before stopping by a circular door with multiple snakes scattered on it

"What are we doing here?" I asked as we entered and stood in front of the entrance.

Fred put up a finger to silence me and took a deep breath. He began whispering something that I could not understand. I watched as the smallest snake moved backwards and opened the chamber.

"Parseltongue? How?" I asked him.

"Harry talks in his sleep, you can hear him from downstairs" he told me as we both walked in.

We walked over to the furthest corner to see the Mirror Of Erised sitting alone in the corner.

"Wicked, it's still here. It's been down here since third year" he smiled and approached it "Stand here" he told me and stood me in front of the mirror.

I watched as my reflection was me stood alone, before my dad stepped up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder. Tears formed in my eyes as he smiled down at me, in his fatherly smile that he always used to show.

"Dad? I miss you so much" I sobbed before seeing another hand being placed on my other shoulder. My whipped my head around to see a woman, slightly shorter than my dad, big curly jet black hair, beautiful emerald green eyes. She had fair pale skin with freckles scattered across her cheeks. She looked exactly like me, but older.

"Mum?" I gasped as I had never even seen a sight of my mum ever. She left us before I could.

Then in a matter of seconds they began to fade very slowly from behind me.

"Dad please don't go. Please don't leave me here" I cried as I placed my hand on my shoulder where my dad's hand was before. As soon as I felt that his hand was never even there, my knees went weak and gave in, causing me to fall to the floor.

I didn't know what else to do except from cry. I looked up to see Fred kneeling down beside and wrapping his arms around me, allowing me to cry into his chest, tugging on his shirt.

"You wanna know what I saw?" he said gently calming me down.

"What?" I answered him and dug my head into his chest.

"Us"

"Really?" I asked looking up at him and he returned a nod.

"Yeah. We were stood in the shop, but you had a baby in your arms. A baby boy, he had your eyes, my nose. Our own baby" he told me.

"We have a baby?" I gasped and sat up properly.

"I'm guessing so" Fred laughed and gave me a huge smile "I love you Emily Black. I really love you. And I promise, to be here with you, for the rest of our lives if it comes to it" he said to me.
