Chapter 5

Train Hard

Connie's POV

"Thanks, Jean!" I shouted, flying towards the fake titan, and Jean's eyes narrowed in anger. I won't let Sasha take this one! I thought. As I sliced the "nape" of its neck, I saw a flash of (h/c) hair, and I smirked. Well, this is a good day! (y/n) was pretty good at finding those dummies, and "killed" a little more than me!

I followed her, staying behind the trees and in the shadows. Her (h/c) hair flew around her face, and I caught a glimpse of purple. Plum, to be more specific. Strange. Well, I wasn't the one to think, so I just shrugged it off.

My grin widened as I saw a titan dummy in the distance. I sped up, trying to get there faster than (y/n). To my surprise, she looked back at me before speeding off and cutting the foam clean off. This time, it was my eyes that widened. W-what? Since when did she go so fast? And how did she spot me before I got in front of her?

She landed on a branch soundlessly, and I felt her focused (e/c) eyes looking directly at mine. I couldn't look away, and I felt like she was almost... reading my mind (wow Connie guessed it before Armin. Nice job Connie and nice job me for making him OOC...). She took off, and I barely heard her muttered words.

"Train harder."

And so I did for the rest of the practice.

Annie's POV

It was time to learn about the titans. Tch, as if I needed that. (Because of *siren noises*SPOILER ALERT*siren noises* // or should I say, ARLERT?) I looked around the room, scanning everything with a bored expression on my face.

There was someone else in the room with a face similar to mine. (y/n).

She was a strange person. Hard to read, unlike everyone else in the Trainee Corps. Only Sasha managed to crack her shell a little bit, but they were just friends. Not even "my first friend" or "a good friend."

Just a friend.

I shifted my attention to Arlert. His academic skills are the top of tops, and even when he is not doing so well with physical training, his brains make up for it. He's probably going to the Survey Corps with Jaeger.

My eyes caught something moving, and I looked to see that it is Jean, that arrogant half-horse. He fights a lot with Jaeger, that titan-hater. Most of us here hate titans, but not as much as him. He's very... unique. His hatred fuels him on, and it might be not so good to get on his bad side.

I looked around and my eyes settled on the Asian girl, Mikasa. Her grades were perfect. And I mean, perfect perfect. Her physical abilities are above everyone else's, and her academic grades are above average.

You wouldn't want to get on her bad side. Nope.

I glance at the board, the indifferent expression on my face. I sigh, and space out for the rest of the class.

Reader's POV

Learning about titans is boring. It was already two years into training, it's almost done, and we're still learning about this?

I mean, the others need to know it, but I know everything by heart! I learned all the stuff like, five thousand years ago!

Well, it was boring as hell. I always sat in the back row, and studied other students instead of "learning" (or rather: listening to boring stuff for hours that makes you fall asleep and Shadis has to wake you up from your slumber by shouting at your ear).

Armin was so smart that it's almost scary; Mikasa was above average; Eren seemed ready to kill but not sit and study--unlike his best friend--Jean seemed kind of uninterested, but not as much as Eren. Speaking of that titan-obsessed boy, he was twirling his pencil when Shadis, from the back of the room, noticed, and threw something to his head.

He winced and paled visibly when he found his instructor staring at him. He turned his attention to the chalkboard, and began furious writing notes, making me smirk a little--unnoticed by the others, of course.

...

Later that day, at dinner, Shadis came into the dining room. Eren and Jean weren't fighting--which was unusual--and the instructor made an announcement that made me squeal in joy. Internally.

"Tomorrow, some people from the Survey Corps will be coming to oversee your training. They will judge you and will teach you some tips. Commander Erwin Smith and Corporal Levi Ackerman will be among them, so I expect you to be at your best!" he shouted at you and slipped out of the room.

There were excited chatters around the room, and you smiled a little--unknown to the others. They started getting up and leaving the room, and you followed.

Sasha jumped on to you, and you flinched a little bit.

"(y/nnnnnnnnnn)!!!" She said, and I pry her off. "This is so exciting!"

I sigh, and ask, "Why? Don't you care about nothing but food?"

She nodded, and started talking really fast, "so if they come, won't the kitchen staff make better food? Huh?"

"Sasha," I look at her in the eyes. "They'll probably eat in another room. And also, if the kitchen duty make better food--which they won't, because they're also soldiers--do you think they'll let you have it?"

Sasha pouted, and you just continued on your way to the dorms.
