Two months and a few more supply thefts later, Izuku was ready for his first night as Jaded. He finished his heat vision goggles, that he painted an obnoxious, glow in the dark, neon green, and his dark blue sticky gloves. His costume all in all wasn't that impressive. Just a baggy dark green hoodie with hand stitched, long bunny ears that reach a bit past his shoulders, his voice changer that acted as a mask, with a cartoony smiley face painted with the same green that he used for his goggles, camo print cargo pants with half a dozen pockets, a dark blue utility belt with a medkit and where he holds his electric batons and whip and handmade thigh length crimson combat boots. Because he's that extra. Don't ask him how he made the cargo pants fit in, he doesn't know either. He was overly prepared for this, planning routes and ways to escape, should shit hit the fan. He even made a separate handwriting for Jaded. He made his patrol schedule be as random as possible, in order to make sure that nobody can track him. Today he's patrolling the west side from 11pm to 1am, tomorrow he'll be in the east from 12am to 3am and the randomness continues. He was so exited today he could barerly stand still. He disassembled and reassembled the microwave 3 times, polished his batons at least 4 times, checked the settings on his voice changer 5 times and somehow still had energy by 8pm. Luckily he spent the rest of the time until his patrol talking to Melissa. Apparently her relationship with her father got a bit worse those past weeks, with him not really supporting her dream of being a hero. Saying it was too dangerous, insinuating that it was because of her quirkless status, but never outright saying it. Gotta give the man some points though, most people would point out her lack of quirk, first thing in an argument. He at least tried to be subtle. Doesn't make it any better, but hopefully Mel-Mel can find some comfort in it.
Once 10pm hit the clock, he started getting ready, putting on his vigilante costume, closing all the lights and windows except for the one in the kitchen, since he still needed to enter his apartment and locking the door with his 14 deadbolts and then jumping out the window, and swinging to the tree in front of the window using his whip. Then he simply jumped from rooftop to rooftop until he reached the west side.
From there he just poked around closed alleyways until he found a thug towering over some scrawney man.
"My my, what do we have here. A big bad scary man bullying an innocent civilian?" said the very robotic and distorted voice of Jaded. "Well we can't have that, now can we?"
"Scram kid, I don't have time to deal with brats." said the thug.
"Yeah well to bad, cuz I do!" And then he jumped down from the roof and kicked the man in the head while still midair. The thug quickly recovered before taking out a bottle, drinking its contents and doubling his muscle size. So a strength quirk, eh? He's obviously brawns over brains, so this'll be an easy fight.
And it was, in about 20 minutes the guy was knocked out and tied with zip ties. He quickly made sure that the victim was ok, before calling the police and booking it out of there.
"Ah, wait! What do I call you!" yelled the guy.
"Call me Jaded."
...
About half a month later in his vigilante career, our favourite green bean has a weird encounter with an underground hobo. Can you guess who it is?
Eraserhead.
Izuku doesn't really know what to think of him. On one hand, he's one of his favourite heroes and he admires the man very much and wants to ask him a billion questions. On the other, he's a hero that kinda tries to catch him, but doesn't really put the effort. He's weird. Speaking of the man, there he is, fighting 2 guys, one has an electric quirk, the other has a mutant quirk that gives him 2 heads.
The guy with 2 heads raises a metal pipe and tries to hit Eraserhead with it, but Midoriya sees this, so he uses his whip to disarm him and then jabs his batons in his chest, knocking him out instantly. Now that the fight was 2v1 in their favour, Eraser and Jaded made quick work of the electric quirk guy.
"Well that was interesting, how's your night so far, Eraser?" asked the vigilante.
"Been better. Would like it more if you come to the police station with me, though." said the pro.
"Ha, no. See I promised one of my neighbours I'd babysit their kid and I can't do that if I'm in prison. So I'm gonna have to say no to that offer. See ya!" And then he used his gloves to climb onto the roof and make his way towards the next crime.
And so for the following months, Eraser and Jaded kept on bumping into each other and helping each other during patrol. They eventually reached a mutual truce of sorts, after Izuku almost got caught while trying to keep Aizawa from bleeding to death. Since then, the 2 became partners of sorts. Busting a few illegal fighting rings, running a few human trafficking busts and arresting small villain organisations together.
Eraser also eventually realized that, oh shit, Jaded is a kid and started helping him a bit more with escaping the police. Such as now, when Eraser missed with his capture weapon on purpose so that Jaded could run away, since the police were there. Once he was a safe distance away, Izuku burst out laughing at how stupid some police officers were, Eraser never misses with his capture weapon while in range. And he was definitely in range. But oh well, their loss. He really needs to buy the hero some coffee for helping him out with that one.
Now he just needs to make it home before sunrise and everything will be just perfect.
