Melissa was done. Done with her father sheltering her like she was made of glass. Done with I-Island. And done with all the quirkists around the world. She won't stand for this discrimination, she won't stand for people looking at her like she'll break at the slightest move. And this is why she was running away.

Let's rewind a bit.

About 2 days ago, her uncle Might, came to visit her and her dad from Japan. She was very excited to see him since he always had good stories to tell. But she also wanted to ask him if he thinks a quirkless person can become a hero. She knows she can't ask him with her father present, so she waits. The 3 of them go around, visit some expositions, have lunch, drive in their car like they're back in their younger age. Honestly those two are acting like grandpas sometimes.

Eventually, David got called back to the lab because something went wrong with the newest project and so this left Melissa alone with All Might. The two of them engaged each other in small talk, about the weather, the newest inventions, old stories from his time in america. And eventually they found themselves in front of the hotel Yagi was staying at. The man gave her a dramatic goodbye followed by a bone crushing hug. But before he could leave, she quickly asked him.

"Uncle Might, wait!" she exclaimed with her hand outstretched.

"What is it Melissa?" asked the man, a bit surprised by her outburst.

"I, um....Can a quirkless person become a hero?"

The man's eyebrows shot so high they might as well have been in space, before his expression became apologetic. "I am very sorry Melissa, but being a hero is very dangerous even with a Quirk. But without one...No I don't think a quirkless person can become a hero."

Melissa's mouth hanged right open. She could not believe this. Even her uncle Might, the greatest hero of all time, didn't believe she could do it. She was sad, mad, disappointed, she wanted to punch something, to scream and yell how it's not fair. But she didn't do any of those things. Instead she hugged the larger man tight and said:

"Thanks uncle Might, now I know what I'm gonna do!" The man hugged her back, giving her his brightest smile, before the 2 of them parted ways.

Once she made her way home, she and her father had dinner, the man already knowing about her conversation with All Might, as he tried to cheer her up. Saying that she can help heroes by becoming an inventor, or she can become a policeman, those always work with heroes. She smiled at her father and told him that she already knows what she wants to do.

She was going to become a vigilante with Izuku.

She already spoke with Zuzu on the topic of running away, the greenette offering to make her a fake identity and everything. And now that she realized her family won't allow her to become a hero the legal way, well then she'll just do it the illegal way. She quickly got her phone and texted him.

Hey Zu, I'm coming to Japan to become a vigilante. Could you pick me up from the airport?

Don't.Be.Fooled.By.The.Green

Sure. What do you want for dinner?

Melissa couldn't help but chuckle. She really had the most amazing friend ever. So, in the dead of the night she packed a bag with a few of her belongings( a few spare pairs of clothes, a picture of her and her dad when she was little, her favourite necklace and her spare pair of glasses), put on a gray baggy hoodie that hid all of her blonde hair and got out through the back door, which was always open.

She quickly made her way to the airport, where she sneaked on the first flight towards Japan, by going with the luggage and hiding between 2 crates. She arrived in Japan at 7:48 pm, when the staff members of the airport came to unload the luggage, she quickly ran out next to the other passengers, making it seem like she was a passenger. Once she entered the airport she texted Midoriya that she arrived and he sent her a badly made selfie with a sushi place. She quickly made her way there and found him at a table, with 4 plates full of sushi, sporting a hideous "shirt" shirt and blue shorts with red sneakers.

"Mel-Mel! You're here!" exclaimed the boy while smiling brightly. He gave her a hug that she gladly accepted before gesturing to the food. "I got us something to eat, hope you don't mind sushi."

Melissa smiled brightly before taking seat. "No, no I don't mind it. I actually haven't had some in a really long time now that I think about it..."

For the duration of the meal, the 2 of them talked about everything and nothing. Once they were done, the two of them started walking towards the train station, but Melissa just couldn't stop staring at Midoriya. He was just so.....tiny.

"What are you staring at?" asked the confused boy.

"You're shorter than I imagined..."

"It's called being fun sized, honey." and then he snapped his fingers in a dramatic Ludmila way.

The ride home was peaceful, with most trains being empty. Once they reached the apartment, Izuku swung the door open before letting them both in.

"Welcome to mi casa!"

Once they entered, the greenette gave her a house tour, before they both took a seat on the sofa. A laptop opened in front of them. Midoriya was about to explain what they'll be doing before a slight pecking in the window got his attention.

"Oh! Hang on a second." He opened the window and let a raven fly in. The bird flew in circles around room a few times before choosing to stay on top of the tv.

The boy chuckled before explaining. "Melissa, this is Screechers, my partner in crime, I called him that because he screeches every time the police is coming. He's quite the rowdy raven."

"Oh...um nice to meet you Screechers." The bird looked at the girl intensely before dipping his head, as if accepting her.

"Alright, so let's finish those acts, eh? I already finished the boring part, such as parents and birth and stuff...Your mom was canadian and your father japanese, by the way." said Izuku, with Melissa nodding away as he explained. "The only things left being your name and hair color."

"Hmm, well....I once read a book about a girl named Melzuki...So maybe that? And um....what's a very common japanese last name?"

"Oh. Easy, Sato. There are thousands of Satos in Japan."

"So Melzuki Sato...Huh, I like it."

"Ok, last thing, I need to know what hair color you want. I currently have red, black, orange, turquoise, pink and purple."

"Uhhh, red I guess?"

"Alright then, Melzuki Sato, the quirkless redheaded hero. Nice!" said the greenette. After finishing the acts, Melissa and Izuku set up the couch so she can sleep and then they both said their goodnights. Tomorrow morning they'll dye her hair red and Melzuki Sato will begin her new life.
