Player's POV:

For some reason, I had this weird feeling of being watched and the overwhelming feeling of dread tonight. It stuck with me as I got changed for the night and threw my beanie onto the floor, not exactly caring where it landed. Before I got into my bed, I paused for a second, thinking.

If I don't feel good about tonight, then I should probably tell someone. I'll tell Veteran and Captain. That should work, right?

I spun around on my heel and first went to Veteran's room, knocking on the door. He answered soon after, and I hugged him. "Veteran?"

"Yeah?"

"Can you come to check on me if you hear any weird noises coming from my room?"

He looked at me with concern in his eyes. "What's wrong? Is something off about tonight?"

I looked down, drilling my eyes into the floor. "It's nothing. I just have a weird feeling about tonight. It's probably just my weird imagination." I let out a half-hearted chuckle. "Trust me, I'll be fine."

He still didn't look convinced. "O-kay,... Are you sure everything's fine?"

"Yes! Everything's perfect. Okay maybe not EVERYTHING, but a lot of things are fine-"

"Get to the point, Player." He crossed his arms a little. "You ramble when you're hiding something."

I sighed. "Okay, fine. I'm worried about tonight because I have this overwhelming feeling of dread. And because I've had that same dream, the one about No-Visor. And," I took in a shaky breath. "And I'm scared it'll all go wrong."

Veteran smiles a little and rubs my shoulder. "You'll be fine. I'm sure you'll...." He dropped off at the end at looked at something over my shoulder, before looking back to me but a little more wearily. "...I'm sure you'll be fine."

I didn't really believe him but took his word for it anyway. "Okaaaaaaayyyyyy...." I looked around the room awkwardly. "Uhm.... I'll see you around, Veteran." I leaned up and kissed his cheek briefly before spinning quickly on my heel and speed-walking over to my room.

When I got there, I wearily closed the door and stood there, thinking. Eventually, I made myself go to bed and flicked the lights off, crawling onto my bed and laying down.

It's all in your head, Player.

It's all in your head.

* * *

I awoke who knows how many hours later with a very strange feeling and trembling hands from that VERY SAME DREAM I've had days on end. Trying to be brave, I blinked open my eyes and stared into the darkness surrounding me.

Oh, what a mistake that was.

I came face-to-face with the horrifying, eyeless face of No-Visor. He was just STANDING THERE, watching me sleep. I tried to scream, but any sound that could have escaped my lips was swallowed up by the deadly silence in an instant. I scrambled to my headboard, digging my fingers into it like a little kid gripping his mother. My movement was eerily silent; no rustling of my sheets while I clambered to the end of my bed, no sound of my choppy breathing, not a sound in the air. Just a silence that was somehow getting louder.
