This contains anime spoilers but no manga ones, also this is only going to be fluff :)
Erwin had been struggling, his life had been falling appart ever since he had been born. Everything slowly slipped away from his fingers even if he held on to it with all the strength he had. But what could he do? He was the commander; this was his job giving all he had and loved for the cause of humanity.
Erwin looked down at his lap where his arm was outstretched and covered in tears, he hadn't noticed he had been crying until he looked down. Had he become soft? What was he doing crying about his pitiful life?
There was a light knock on the door but Erwin didn't hear it, he had let his tears stream down his face and he no longer heard what was going on around him.
"Erwin" the short raven man opened the door of his room.
Erwin shot his head up from his arm as he heard his husband's voice. The 2 men looked into eachothers eyes without exchanging any words. The eye contact was filled with love and understanding as Levi's face softened and a smile crept up to Erwins lips.
How could Erwin be so stupid, he may had lost everyone and everything but Levi was right there, standing in his doorway. There was nothing else Erwin wanted more than to feel the embrace of Levi.
"Levi, I-" but his husband cut him off by striding over to his bed and cupping his face in his scarred hands. Levi made sure to stare Erwin right in the eyes before locking their lips in a kiss. Levi was not a man of words but he knew when his husband was going through hell and instead of talking about it they would share their presence.
Eventually Erwin parted their lips to speak "Do you still love me?" This may have been a childish question but after losing his arm he had to be reassured.
Before Levi answered he lifted his eyebrow and Erwin could have sworn he saw a smile on his face.
"Darling, I devoted my heart to you even before we got married. I have killed, fought and lied for you. You have me wrapped around your finger so tight that if I tried to escape I would end up taking my life. If you think that losing a limb would change that you have to be mental." Erwin grabbed Levi by the waist and pulled him into his arms holding him close to his chest.
"Well if you lost your dick I would have to reconsider my love." Levi smirked into Erwins chest.
"WHAT?" Erwin looked down at the raven haired man with alarm in his eyes, did he really mean it?
"Im kidding you, big brute." Levi smiled, kicking off his shoes and laying down so his face rested in the crook of Erwins neck.Erwin sighed and stroked Levi's hair with his hand as they sat in silence. The embrace may have lasted years or maybe just 5 minutes, at this point time no longer existed.
Eventually Levi stood up leaving Erwin on his bed. "I'm going to go change so don't get all sad." Levi said as he saw the hurt expression on Erwin's face.
While Levi was gone Erwin looked at his missing arm, he felt so incomplete but at least Levi saw no difference. He loved that man so much it hurt, his face was so gentle yet stern and his whole existence felt like a gift from god themself to Erwin.
While Erwin was lost in his thoughts about how much he loved his husband Levi invited himself in the room and tucked himself in next to Erwin. The 2 men held each other loosely, the embrace felt so intense with emotion Erwin started to tear up.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Levi shot open his eyes as he heard his husband's small cies.
"I just love you so much and I still can't believe you could love someone like me." Erwin tried holding back some of his tears but they still fell out of his eyes.
Levi brought his hand up to Erwin's face and wiped away a tear. "I'm not as amazing as you put me out to be Erwin." Levi whispered. "I am more of a horrible person than you are." Erwin blinked.
"You started with a stable life and I had to kill so many people to become who I am and I still cant save everyone to repay for my sins." Levi looked deep into his husband's eyes while talking. "If anyone doesn't deserve this relationship it's me but I would never leave you." Levi made it clear that he no longer wanted to talk so Erwin just held him close as he listened to his steady breathing.
The 2 men dozed off but Erwin fell into sleep first. Levi could never sleep but when he was with Erwin he felt safe and loved in his embrace. A small tear rolled down Levi's cheek as he fell into sleep.
