Olive slowly pulled away and looked up at her best friend. "I love you too, I have since the day I met you, we might be young but you've been on my mind all these years. you and only you Owen." Olive said with a soft smile on her face. With that Owen swept her off her feet in a tight, passionate hug. "Olive, the day we left each other to go to college was the day I knew that you were mine, and I still think that way. the love I have for you will always be there, forever." Owen said placing a soft kiss on her head. Olive smiled and gently ruffled up his hair. "it means a lot to hear that from you Owen." Olive said with a bright smile on her face. As the night went on the two stayed together the majority of the time besides the five minutes they took to tell their best friend's what had happened.
But.. while this was happening, Sarah and Charlie ended up getting to know each other a bit better and ended up spending most of the dance with one another, talking and laughing. Once the dance had ended, the guys offered the girls a ride home so all drove home together, dropping Sarah and Olive off at their hotels then heading back to their own homes. Sarah spent the night talking to Charlie over the phone, the two having an immediate connection. Some point in the night Olive had gone over to Owen's apartment as she wanted to spend the night with him. The two snuggled close to one another as they soon fell asleep.
The next morning when Olive woke up Owen wasn't in bed and was in the kitchen area of his apartment, making something to eat. She yawned as she walked out of the bedroom, rubbing her eyes sleepily. "how come you're up already? it's like- 9 am." Olive said with a groan. "that's not very early silly, and I'm making you breakfast so no complaining." He said as he looked over his shoulder, holding a pan on the stove while scrambling the eggs in the pan with his other hand. "okay, okay." She said sleepily as she went and took a seat at his small kitchen table, pulling her hair out of the ponytail it was in. Owen soon finished and put some food onto two plates, bringing them over and setting one in front of Olive and the other in front of the chair beside her as he was planing on sitting there. "do you want anything to drink Liv?" He said as he walked over to the fridge.
"do you have orange juice?" She said looking up at him. "I sure do." Owen said as he pulled the orange juice out and poured two glasses of it. He went and put them on the table as he sat beside her. "so.. I was thinking like all night and I'm just curious, are we like- dating now? I mean- we don't have to be if you aren't comfortable with it I just wanted to ask." Owen said as he played with his rings anxiously. "of course I want to date you Owen, did you not hear me say I love you too last night?" She said teasingly. "okay, good, I just wasn't sure." He said with a slight smile and a nod. "how is it?" He said motioning to the food he had prepared for her. "really good actually, your mom taught you how to cook eggs just like she did and I'm not mad, her eggs were the best." Olive said as she was eating her eggs. "glad you like it, the first two times I tried I burnt them cause I was seeing if you were awake-" He said with a slight laugh.
"yeah that sounds like you." She said jokingly as she ruffled up his hair before turning back to her food and continuing to eat. "I wonder what Charlie did all night- he didn't have a date, surprise surprise." He said with a laugh. "oh I actually think I saw him and Sarah hanging out a lot of the time, I even saw them dancing." Olive said glancing up at him. "oh wow- I really thought he'd just be dancing on his own most of the time." He said trying not to laugh. "when was the last time he had a girlfriend?" Olive said with a slightly confused look on her face. "oh shoot uh- maybe when he was like.. 15?" Owen said trying to think. "damn- poor guy." Olive said laughing slightly. "he's always complaining about how lonely he is yet he's over here almost every single day." He said rolling his eyes. "he better not come over today, today you're hanging out with me." Olive said folding her arms. "you tell him that, he never listens to me." Owen said holding his hands up in his defense. "I will, and I'll make sure he knows not to come over today." She said as she soon finished eating. "what is that supposed to mean?" Owen said with a concerned look on his face. "oh- nothing." She said looking around innocently.
She soon got up and out her plate and cup in the sink. "thanks for breakfast Owen." She said with a smile as he walked over setting his plate and cup in the sink as well. "no problem Olive, I make myself breakfast every morning so it's no issue." He said with a smile as he softly kissed her forehead. "now, what do you wanna do today?" Owen said looking down at Olive as he brushed her hair out of her face and behind her ears. "how about.. hmm do you have like a duck pong near by?" She said curiously. He nodded. "can we go there? and feed the ducks?" She said with a bright smile. "sure Liv, do you need me to take you home to change first or do you wanna just borrow some of my clothes?" He said looking down at her. "can I just borrow some of yours?" She said looking back up at him. "sure Liv, you can just pick anything from my closet I'll wait out here." He said with a smile. She nodded and headed into his bedroom.
