Let's fast forward about.. a year. By now, Owen and Olive were no longer talking, at all. How had this happened? Well the two of them were talking for a while but slowly their school work and schedules started to take up pretty much all of their time, causing them to start texting and calling less and less.
This had been effecting both of them differently, Olive has cried almost 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 night since the day they first completely stopped talking, it's been months since one of them has contacted each other what-so-ever. Owen on the other hand, it's effecting him more deeply, but he has a way of not showing his feelings as he was considered 'strong' meaning he didn't cry often, no matter how much something hurt him.
They had both just been going along with their lives by now, Olive had met a new friend which she now considered her best friend, since her and Owen were no longer talking. Sarah, her new best friend was comforting her through all of this and she appreciated Sarah so much for this.
Owen has been two new friends in LA as well, Charlie, and Jeremy. He considers these two basically like his brother by now, Charlie and Jeremy don't know about Olive just yet, as he could never bring himself to tell them about her. Plus, he didn't want them to think she was anything more that a friend, cause that would be weird, right?
But maybe Owen did have feelings for her.. no that can't be right, he always thought. He did, he just didn't want to admit it, not to Olive, not to his friends, not to 𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛. This was slowly tearing him to pieces. He hated that they were no longer talking, there were many times that he would type a message to her but.. he always deleted it and never sent it. What if she didn't want to talk to him? He was always thinking.
They both always blamed themselves, thinking it was always their fault, but in reality, it was nobody's fault. It's normal to drift from the people you never thought you'd drift from. It sucks, I know, but it happens, and there's usually not a whole lot you can do to prevent it from happened. No matter how much you don't want it to happen, you really can't prevent it from happening.
They both had just been so focused on their school lives, they never expected 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 to happen. In fact, this was the last thing they every thought could happen. You know, since they were so close to each other, but they were wrong. All they could hope for now is to somehow meet again, somehow, somewhere.
Little did they know, this is 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 what was going to happen. Anyways, let's see what they're up to right now, shall we?
"I just wish I could see him, one more time, it's been months since we've last spoken, he means so much to me Sarah, so so much." Olive said in tears, she did this a lot so it was normal for Sarah, Olive didn't understand how Sarah was able to out up with her all the time.
"I know Ol, I'm sorry." Sarah said with a frown as she was sitting beside Olive who was sitting with her back against the wall, tears streaming quickly down her cheeks. Sarah comfortingly rubbed Olive's back. Olive always enjoys Sarah's company, it always made her feel better, even when she was at her lowest point.
Olive buried her face into Sarah's shoulder as tears streamed down her cheeks. Sarah rested her chin on the top of Olive's head which had caused Olive to burst into tears as this action reminded her of when her and Owen said goodbye to each other on the day they left to college, as he did the exact same thing when he was holding her in his arms, god she wished he never would've let go.
While that all happened, Owen was hanging out with Charlie and Jeremy in his small college apartment. Charlie and Jeremy were talking as Owen was completely zoned out. "Owen? Owen?! Owen!" Charlie said trying to get Owen's attention. "hm?" Owen said looking up at the two of them who were staring right at him with a concerned look on their faces.
"are you okay? you've been acting off all day." Charlie said in a concerned tone as he looked at Owen. "oh, yeah. yeah, I'm fine." Owen said with a slight smile. "you can talk to us, you know that, right?" Jeremy said. "yes I know, but I'm fine, I promise. don't worry about me." Owen said reassuringly.
Jeremy sighed, doing as Owen said and decided to change the subject. "so, any of you got any love interests?" Jeremy said jokingly, Jeremy was already engaged so he loved to tease his friends about this subject, knowing they couldn't do anything to tease him back.
Owen nodded slightly which caught both of their attention quickly. "who?!" Charlie said with a grin. "oh, nobody." Owen said not wanting to admit the truth. "c'mon now you 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 to tell us." Jeremy said with a smirk. "really it's nobody, I doubt they feel the same anyway."
"whatever you say, we'll get it out of you eventually though!" Charlie said grinning. Owen ran a hand through his hair. What did I just do? Owen thought to himself. Is Owen going to tell his friends about Olive? Is he going to admit his real feelings for her? Find out in the next chapter. :)
