Chapter 8: Investigation Continues

Back at Company 1:

Y/n, Shinra, Arthur and Maki were all sitting in a tense quietness, all of us trying to wrap our head around what we just witnessed.

Maki: "So based on what we just witness Y/n is able to actually reverse the effect of the spontaneous combustion by absorbing the flames of an infernal.."

Shinra: "Not only that but judging on how the Lieutenants acted, they are our top suspects on the one who been making people into infernal.." *looks down* "and we already know Fujitani can't be the one turning people into Infernals as he was with us, before the report came in.. I hate to say this but because we don't know friend from foe here we will need to wait.."

Shinra, Maki, Arthur, and Y/n shared a look of concern at the prospect of another person getting killed.

Arthur: *looks at Y/n* "I'm more shocked at how Fujitani was able to reverse the process of Spontaneous combustion.."

Y/n: "Yet I don't even remember how I even did it...or even How I even got to the location in the first place.... But not like it matters...the bodies was found dead anyways...."

Maki: "Hey it's something! Besides didn't you see the smile of the victims' faces.. They look happy and filled with peaceful.."

Y/n: *sighs* "Regardless that is not the issue here.. what is the issue is finding out who is the ones causing these people to turn into Infernals...." *gets up* "We better search all the rooms it may lead us to a clue..."

Shinra: "What? But we don't know if Company 1 has anything to do with these incidents..."

Y/n: "No...but they why on Earth would they ask you all to stay back instead of handling the Infernals ourselves...it's quite odd... and it's our only lead we can work it.. so best to find out any clues here."

Arthur: "I guess that makes sense.." *the other two nods in agreement*

Y/n: "Good then it's- *cuts himself off causing him to turn his head towards the doorway in his own head he heard the sound of a cry similar to a small high pitch screech* 

Maki: "....Y/n? What's wrong.."

Y/n: "You hear that?"

Shinra: *looks around with the others* "Hear what?"

Y/n: "That...screeching noise...I heard it before..."

Arthur: "I don't hear a screaming noise?"

Shinra: "....He said screeching.." *sees Y/n walking out of the and walks off* "H-hey Fujitani!" *The three run off after Y/n who was making his way towards the Lieutenant Karim's room."

Y/n: *hearing the sound of high pitch shrieking coming from this room* "It's coming from here... sounds like a bug's cry when focused thru a microphone.." 

Maki:  *thinking as well* 'That's ...oddly specific..'

Shinra: "This is Lieutenant Karim's room" *tries opening the door and as predicted it was locked* "Locked.

Suddenly without anyone laying a second thought. Y/n delivers a hard chop to the doorknob  knocking off the door before  tapping on the other doorknob on the other side causing it to fall off.

Y/n: "Consider it unlocked."

Shinra: "D-dude he's going to notice the door-"

Y/n: "Not now Shinra!"*walks inside to see inside the room, and the decore finding it...average..* "Hm..." *walks inside and listens to where the bug's screeching is coming from and it soon lead him to a locked drawer* "Guys come here!"  *the three run over to Y/n and took notice to the drawer* 

Shinra: "A drawer?" 

Y/n: "Anyone have a paper clip or a plasma cutter?"*gets his answer as Arthur sliced it open with a piece of plastic which was heated up to high temperatures before melting* "That can work.." 

Arthur: "I call them mini Excaliburs. I make it out of plastic so it can melt of the first try.."

Y/n opens the drawer and finds a vial sitting there with a little insect inside.

Arthur: *picks it up and they all examined the little bug* "A bug? We came all this way for a bug.."

Y/n: "Hm...not just the any bug.. I remember finding these bug inside the corpse's of the victim who turned into Infernals."

Shinra: "And you hid this info from us why?"

Y/n: "...Until I know for sure..." *sense the heat coming off this bug* "No doubt about these thing can turn someone infernal.."

Shinra: "Then that settles it! Karim Flam is out culprit!"

Right when Shinra said that a chill ran down everyone's spin. The group all turned and saw none other then Lieutenant Karim. He walked up to them stood out protectively infront of Shinra and Arthur."

Karim: "So.... the 8th is trailing the same trail as I am.."

Maki: "How do we know if your lying of not? For all we know you could just be tricking us, beside all evidence points to-"

Y/n: *cuts him off* "..It's not him..." *the others look over ot him confusion* "The air around him...it's cold...the whole time I was fighting the Infernal all I could sense was the Heat.."

Shinra: "So he's not our culprit.."

Y/n: "No...but I might know who..." *looks over to  Karim* "Where did you find this bug?"

Karim: *frowned* "I had a case a couple months back, a group of kids caught fire simultaneously and I know it was too much of a coincidence so I went back to investigate and found that bug.." *pointing to the vial in Arthur's hand*

Shinra: *growls in disgust and Y/n was equally disgusted* "So the culprit is targeting kids at well? Sick Bastard."

Y/n: "That confirms my suspect..." *everyone looks over to Y/n with interest* "Rekka Hoshimiya is our culprit..." 

Karim: "How the hell did you deduce that?"

Y/n: "Who else in Company 1 would have a 'friendly' persona to lure in kids?" *walks off* "I seen every file in all the companies including Lieutenant Rekka is known to hang around kids always playing games with them and showing off...."

Maki: "Where are you going?"

Y/n: "My damn job." *Karim was about to intervene* "AND IF YOU FUCKING THINK I'M GOING TO STAND ON THE FUCKING SIDELINES. THEN YOU ARE WORSER THAN SCUM!" *runs off before turning thru the corridor before as he does his eyes begin to glow bright green as he soon takes off at high speeds, his feet were igniting flames allowing him to propel thru the air*

Shinra: *offscreen* "Hey!" *Y/n looks over to see Shinra tailing him using his flame to follow him* "At least let me tag along with you! I want to catch this creep too!"

Y/n smirks before the two soar thru the air above the whole Shinjuku area looking for any signs of Rekka.
