"Hi," I greet Lisa the next day. We're okay now, right?
She just glances at me and continues scrolling through her phone.
"Lisa?"
Nothing.
"I... I thought we were okay."
Still nothing.
It's incredible, really, how she can make me feel like I'm being stabbed in the chest without her even trying.
She stands up from her chair and walks past me, back to her room.
Confused and crushed, I drag my feet to the living room to distract myself, but I'm greeted by a little basket on the coffee table across our sofa. It has a stuffed toy, a box of chocolates, and a bouquet of flowers. Attached is a little handwritten note that says:
Hope this cheers u up. See u soon and have a nice day! :) -Kai
