She pelted down the stairs the rain falling through her raven blue hair . It whipped around her shoulders and glided through the wind . I was stuck . My mind was trying to recollect what just happened. No matter how I said it it still made no sense. " my good friend just declared her love for me" , "the girl who sits behind me said she has feelings for me" nothing. I could barley move. Not even the provoking horn coming from the car could stop my whirring mind. So I stood in the rain my hair plastered to the side of my face.

I ran. No, sprinted down the steps. I didn't even register the howling wind or the streaming rain that forced it way to the ground. Eventually I realised I was no where near my house. But I kept sprinting , I felt like throwing up I didn't know where I was going I just ran. Even Tikkis ceaseless cries didn't stop me. Maybe if I kept running it would all go away. My salty tears mixed with the fat droplets of rain. I stopped I no longer had control over my body, it was battered and bruised , scrapes decorated my knees and arms but my mind was too weak to protest. So my legs tenderly treaded towards an oak. A certain oak. It was my secret place. Me and Alya had attached a swing to it a year ago . We didn't come here often because it was too faraway . I gingerly touched the wooden seat . The ropes were dirty and wet . The seat was covered in soaking moss . I don't care at this point I sat on the swing and pushed of the ground and let my legs swing back and forth my arms felt tired but I clung onto the ropes if this wonderful feeling of floating and falling was all I have left then there was no way I was letting go.

My father was furious with me but all I felt was a numbness. I peeled of my dripping clothes and shoved them in the laundry shoot and stepped into the shower. I put it on the hottest setting and just enjoyed the burning sensation as it rubbed away the grime that coated me. I rubbed some mint shampoo into my hair and let the bubbles drip over my face then I added conditioner it didn't bubble up but I liked the silky feeling it had in my hair. I used sand wood scented body wash and forced myself out of the shower. I knew what I had to do.

A polite knock came from the door. I thought it might be Alya , she was my little cupcakes BFF . I pulled it open . A boy was standing there he looked quite dejected . Before I could say anything he asked " is Mari here" he said it painstakingly gentle. I told him she wasn't home yet because she had just called saying she had an after school activity. His green eyes widened before he told me " there are no after school clubs on Wednesday! "

Even if I didn't feel the same way towards Mari I was still terrified for her. I had already tried ringing her but nobody answered. This time I dialled Alyas number.
Call

A ( Adrien) "hey do you know where Mari is"
Al ( Alya) " nope she said she was walking home"
A " but she's not home.."
N ( Nino Alyas bf ) " wait so Maris...
Al MISSING"
A "are u on speaker"
Al " yes I am, but I swear if u hurt my gurl I'm about to start throwing hands"
A " so she told u about it"
Al " yes she did but not when or how I am gonna kill you"
N " not cool dude"
A " im gonna find Mari now byyeeee"
I hung up

I messed up bad. Really bad.
I told Tom the situation.I just about forced myself not to turn of notifications incase Mari texted me. Even though the death threats from Alya were adding up.

I thanked Tom and hid inside an alleyway. Plagg didn't waste a second to tell me how bad a messed up. Before I went insane with the piling death threats and Plaggs insults I yelled,"Plagg , claws out" I felt the comforting leather against my skin and the ears that twitched straining for any signs of life . I leapt across a rooftop loving the powerful pull that stretched through my body. I called m'lady telling her that a girl named Marinette Dupain-Cheng had gone missing. She probably wouldn't receive it but it was worth a try. I searched everywhere through the streets and roads, the school , the parks . But nothing. I checked Alyas place just in case . She was still adding to the never ending threats . I knocked on her window. She was still to engrossed in her texting to notice but Nino did. He practically shoved her out of her trance . He opened the window for me . " Hey dude I m-mean C-cat Noir what's up"
I explained that Mari had gone missing ( they already knew this but they didn't know I was Adrien) . Alya numbered something under her breath barley noticible but my sharp ears managed to catch it. "Where?" Alya answered more confidently this time. " she could be at our spot, we haven't been there in ages though" . She told me that it was past the alley way near the ice rink and through the the fields if you kept going forward I was supposed to find a forest and I should be able to find her from there. "Her favourite place was this giant oak , a swing should be wrapped around the thickest truck." I thanked her gratefully before merging with the night sky. This seemed very faraway at least a mile. Not that that was a problem for me. I found the forest and gazed in awe it was magnificent the trees had thick leaves clinging to the mighty trunks. I heard an almost whimper and singing.

Authors note - this isn't my song

"And I was running faraway
Would I run of the world someday
Nobody knows , nobody knows

I was dancing in the rain
I felt alive and I can't complain
Now take me home
To the home where a belong
I can't take it anymore"

I followed her voice until it became clear. A fragile girl sat on a swing, with each word she thrust higher . I sat there for a few minutes listening to her sing the rain seemed to hum with her and the wind howled to the song.

I forced myself to come out of hiding. I called her. When she saw me her arms let go of the rope . Her mouth was open but nothing came escaped her lips . I quickly caught her and she fell limp into my arms. She had fainted

 She had fainted
