Blinding Truth

JENNIE

"Mom, you're here."
Lisa came near to her and here I am not taking my eyes away from my children.

Lisa's mother stared at me but I did not look back.

"Quentin, Sasha, kiss your grandma now. It's time for bed."
They did.

Their nanny took them and entered their rooms.

"Ma'am, can I talk to you later?"
Nanny whispered and I nodded.

I really feel strange.

Lisa and her Mom talked at the living area while I made a cup of tea for Lisa's Mom and coffee for her.

Headed to them and Lisa gestured that I should sit beside her.

I couldn't relax. But Lisa snaked her arm at my back and placed her hand on my thigh.

"What brought you here? How did you find us?"
Lisa asked her mother.

"I am your mother Lisa and I have my means. How long are you going to keep my grandchildren from me?"
She asked and Lisa took a sip from her cup.

"Does Yuna know about this? Are you cheating on your wife?"
She asked her daughter.

"Ex-wife. Jennie and I are married already. Go straight to the point, Mom. What do you need from me?"

Her mom was shocked.

"What? No! Since when you and Yuna-."
But Lisa did not let her finish.

"We're divorced."
She said.

"Lisa, Yuna is your wife!"

"Jennie is my wife. I have always been in love with her. When will you ever accept that? We have our family now. Will you please let us be happy? Stop controlling me! Aren't you done yet?"
Lisa snapped and she raised her voice.

"Lisa, I just want the best for you."
She said and looked at me sharply.

"Best? Do you fucking know what life I had with Yuna? She abused me physically. She had always been nagging me. She cheated on me right after our wedding. I was never happy with her. You forced me to marry her. All I had was a miserable life!
Oh god. I am just so thankful that I found Jennie again and my kids. Can't you see? I am happy with my wife, mom. We're happy with our fanily. If you only came here to tell me to get back to Yuna, we know I can't and I won't. I am married to Jennie. And even if I'm not, I'd still ask her to marry me over and over again. I lost her once. Never will I let it happen again."
Lisa is already crying.

I caressed her back and held her hand tighter to calm her.

"This woman left you because she looked for someone who is capable of raising a child and not like you who were broke that time."
She said and I am suprised.

"Excuse me? With all due respect, we both know that's not the reason why I left Lisa."
I spoke up and my tears are starting to fall.

Lisa looked at me in the eyes and she is puzzled.

"Do you want me to tell Lisa the truth? Huh? You can't scare me anymore. I am going to protect my family as much as I can, especially my kids at all cost.
I won't let you control Lisa and let her life go miserable again. I am sorry. But this house is under my name and I am asking you to please leave. I am sorry."
I am sobbing. I went upstairs and checked on my children.
