Alana's POV:
I am reading under my favorite tree in the garden of the Professor's house, where Mum and I live, and I suddenly my mum calling me.
"Lani?" She calls from the door.
I put my bookmark in at my page and call back. "Yes Mum?"
"Could you come in please?" I tell her I will and then get up and start walking towards the door where my mum was standing before. While I am walking in the Professor is on his way out.
"Good day Alana." He says seeing me.
"Hello Professor." I smile. "Out for you daily walk?"
"Precisely." He answers and then walks away.
"Will you be having lunch with us today, sir?" I ask him. "Should I set a place for you?"
"Not today. But thank you for the invite." He says turning around to smile at me and then walks away. I then go inside to see what my mum needed.
I look around the house confused, it's like she just disappeared. I find her in the washing room taking sheets out of the dryer.
"You needed me mum?" I ask. I accidentally scared her and she almost dropped the clean sheets. "Sorry."
"Don't worry. Yes. I need your help setting up 2 bed rooms upstairs. The Professor had accepted to let some kids come to live here for a little while, because where they usually live, the bombing got to bad. I am picking them up from the station later today." She explains and I nod.
I am kind of exited to have some other kids here with me because I spend all my time either with my mum or, on occasion with the Professor.
"I would like you to set up the two free rooms in your hallway for them please." She continues and then she puts the sheets down into a basket.
"How many kids are there?" I asks.
"Two girls and two boys. So one room for the girls and one room for the boys." She answers and I nod. And I go to make the rooms up.
When I am done I go down to the kitchen where I know Mum will be finishing up preparing lunch.
"Are you done Alana?" She asks me, seeing me walk in.
