A Different Me

Chapter 2

It was a week before school started. Sterling (my boyfriend) and I went fishing out at a pond that nobody knew of except for us. We sat down some blankets we had a cooler of beer that our older friends had bought for us and some fishing poles. I was wearing some Jean shorts that were kind of tight and short and a T-shirt that I had cut the sleeves off of and some cowgirl boots. Not those boots with the 6 in heel. Real cowgirl boots that were all scuffed up and old.
"I can't wait to be able to see you everyday and be able to walk you to class and introduce you to everyone at school. I love you so much." Sterling said calmly to me then kissed my forehead.
"I love you too and I can't wait either." I said.
I felt a tug on the end of my fishing pole so yanked it and hooked the fish then reeled it in. I began to try to get the fish off of the hook but I couldn't get it and sterling saw that I was struggling so he got it off. He put some water in our spare cooler and put the fish in there.
" 1 for Katie and 0 for me, you're always out fishing me." He laughed.
"It's because I'm a better fisher than you." I answered jokingly.
Sterling turned on the radio in his lifted Chevy truck to a country station. Luke Bryan was on the radio and he began to sing along. We fished all day and we filled up the cooler. We called all our friends and told them we would have a fish fry at the pond house. The pond house was a house down the dirt road that the pond was on. Sterling let me drive to the pond house. He once said that it was sexy how I drive his truck. I agreed but I didn't tell him that. His truck is my dream truck I love it it's hunter green has an 8' lift on it and 44' tires. His headlights are neon blue he has a whip on the front of the bed of the truck and two subs under the back seat. We got to the pond house and started cleaning the fish and cooking them, I got a shower and put on a yellow tank top that was made with the low sides and I wore a black tube top under it I put on some more short Jean shorts and I put my cowgirl boots back on. I dried my hair then curled it then put my black cowgirl hat on. I sprayed some perfume that sterling had bought me for Valentine's Day last year and walked out side to where he was cooking the fish. He kissed my forehead and hugged me then said "I'm so glad you're mine. You are the most beautiful young woman I have ever seen." I just smiled and said I can finish this while you get ready. He agreed and went inside the pond house and got a shower and got dressed. I finished frying the fish. And brought them inside. I made some French fries to go with them. Sterling walked out of the bedroom wearing some Jeans that fit just right a belt with a big buckle and a v-neck t-shirt on. He had a camouflage costa hat on backwards and a necklace that I had bought him for his birthday. He walked up behind me and stole a French fry. I smacked his hand and said "hey look it's Brandon and Taylor." I finished the French fries while Sterling went outside to meet them. They all walked in. Taylor walked over to me and gave me a hug
"Hey Katie how have you been it's been like forever!" She said.
"I've been fantastic! How about your self?" I answered
"I've been great Brandon and I are engaged now and after graduation we are moving in together!" She said
"That's great!" I said almost burning the French fries.
I finished the French fries and put some tin foil over them and the fish so it wouldn't get cold. Tracy and Hannah showed up in Tracy's lifted green jeep. We all went outside and we greeted them. Tracy, Brandon, and Sterling made a fire and set up some lawn chairs. Cameron, Dillon, and Conner showed up in Dillons lifted Ford F-150. It was all muddy so we all assumed they had just been mudding all day. Then my friends Brooke, Stephanie, and Adrian had showed up in Stephanie's Dodge Charger After about 10 more minutes Ethan, Dan and Mitch showed up in Dan's lifted Dodge Ram. Shortly after Morgan, Sydney, and Mallory. Showed up in Morgan's Mazda rx8. The whole gang was there and Dillon turned on the radio onto a country station because he had the best speakers out of all of us. We ate, we drank some beer. Well a lot more than just some, and we danced. We had an amazing time and everyone stayed the night because we were all to drunk to go anywhere. The next morning we all woke up with hangovers. We all stayed at the pond house and watched some movies and slept. Everyone stayed the night again and the next morning everybody decided it was time to leave and go home. Sterling and I cleaned everything up and it literally took all day but we got it done then he took me home then went home his self. That night he texted me and said "I had the best weekend that I've had in forever thanks for making it amazing I love you so much babe goodnight" I texted him back and said "I had a great time also. I love you too goodnight sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite." He sent a kissing emoji and I fell asleep.
