Weiss PoV:
"Would you believe me when I said: I fell in love with a girl I don't even know?"
Neptune looked at me like I said something really funny. I could tell by the way his smile was growing till he was already grinning like an idiot. "What? What's so funny? Stop looking like that this instant!" I snapped because he really started to annoy me.
I huffed angrily and stormed past him again. He followed without saying a word but that goddamn grin wouldn't leave his face till we made it to his classroom. Only then did I stop. "Are you going to keep that look on your face or are you going to get yourself together and act normal?"
He wanted to say something but didn't as my glare intensified. He took a breath and regained his composure. Then he quickly winked and entered while I made my way to my own class.
Upon arrival I noticed I wasn't the first but didn't let that irritate me. I just sat at an empty row. It didn't stay empty for long though. As I finished taking out all my materials the blonde from earlier entered the room followed by Blake, my other best friend. Blake has amber eyes, black hair and a black bow on top. She wears her black pants and top, her black and purple heals and the white jacket and belt to finish the look. As usual.
I was hoping to see the silver eyed girl follow as well but she didn't, leaving me disappointed. The blonde poked the black haired and they sat down in the same row as me with Blake at the end, the blonde next and the seat next to me still free.
I heard the two talking but decided to ignore it. Instead I checked if I really had all the things I needed. Satisfied that I did I looked to the front again to see the silver eyed girl enter the room. Her eyes locking with mine for a second before shifting over to the blonde in annoyance. She hesitantly made her way over and sat down next to me.
I studied her features from the corner of my eye. She was tall, but not as tall as the blonde who was a giant. The red tips in her black hair don't seem dyed but natural. Almost as if her hair just grows like that. Her silver eyes focused on her desk. Why is she looking at her desk? Does she feel uncomfortable? Maybe I should introduce myself.
I worked up my courage and spoke up. "Hello." She visibly flinched because I spoke so suddenly but collected herself. She looked at me. "H-hi." And after a short pause she extended her hand. "I'm Ruby." I took it. "Weiss." Why did I only say my name? That sounded like I'm in a formal meeting and not trying to make a new friend. What's wrong with me? "Nice to meet you!" She pulled me out of my thoughts. "Likewise." Urgh, I hate my father for making me always talk 'politely' when I'm nervous. It makes people my age think I'm an arrogant rich girl!
I thought about how to lighten our conversation but then our teacher entered the room in record time. I saw the silver eyed girl alias Ruby looking at our still joined hands and I quickly pulled mine back. Although I liked the contact and wouldn't mind holding her hand all day but it's way too soon for that.
"Hello student and welcome to your first day of school. My name is Bartholomew Oobleck and I'm your teacher in history, chemistry and math, as well as your group leader for coming school trips. I'm going to explain everything you need to know today and help you find your right partners and teammates. Any questions?" I think he drank too much coffee with how fast he just said that.
I guess this is going to be a rather interesting lesson. I thought.
Just as I thought that I could see the blonde slightly shove Ruby and sign her something. Ruby huffed in annoyance and focused on the teacher again.
"As some of you might know we are a combat school but there's more to it so I advise you to listen carefully as this is important." In the corner of my eye I could see the brute poking Ruby, yet again who then looked at her.
"This is Beacon academy and as students of this school you chose the Huntsmen course to gain your Huntsmen licenses. Those will allow you to use combat in self defense as well as defense of others and in service of the kingdom. For that, you'll be training in a team of four people. You'll be assigned Teammates tomorrow at initiation day."
The blonde slipped over a piece of paper and the redhead took it. She opened it and immediately closed it again. I couldn't read what stood there except for 'Reiss', whatever that's supposed to mean.
A girl's voice said "See, I told you..." before being interupted by the teacher "Those Teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here, so it's in your best interest to team up with someone whom you can work well with. You'll share a room with them and every school trip you're going on will be with them as well. With that being said, those Teammates will be with you for the next four years!"
Sounds of disapproval echoed through the room. Ruby crumbled the piece of paper, put it away and raised her hand. Oobleck saw her "Yes?" He questioned. "I'm sorry Professor Oobleck..." She started but was cut off. "It's doctor Oobleck". He said and glared.
"I..uh... I'm sorry..d-doctor Oobleck but I was a little bit distracted and didn't hear what you told us. C-could you repeat it please?" While still giving Ruby that death stare under which she visibly got smaller he said. "Miss Schnee, would you please repeat what I said for Miss..?" He questioned "R-rose. Ruby Rose. I'm new here. This isn't an excuse or anything I-i just.. okay I'm just gonna shut up." I could barely make out the last part.
His glare vanished. "So Miss Schnee, would you please repeat what I said for Miss Rose?" Ruby looked shameful at her desk. I felt sorry for her since I know why she didn't pay attention.
"Of course." I so I explained it again and watched how Ruby listened intensely to every word I said. I guess she didn't want to have to ask again so she paid extra attention to not miss anything. Her eyes were so focused on me it's a miracle I didn't stutter because I looked back just as intense.
On my last words though I had to rip my eyes off her to look at doctor Oobleck for approval. He nodded. "Thank you Miss Schnee. And Miss Rose: I advise you to pay attention now." Ruby nodded like a small child getting lectured. "Alright then, moving on! We will now go to the auditorium for the opening ceremony. Headmaster Ozpin wants to share a few words with you before you will be excused for the day. Now, follow me students."
We all got up to follow Oobleck. Ruby gave me an apologetic look before getting dragged out by the blonde. Blake took hold of my arm to slow me down. I looked at her, questioning. "What exactly was that just now?" She asked me. I looked her directly in the eyes, slightly confused. "What do you mean?" She smirked. "You got the chance to lecture someone and didn't. Instead you both stared at each other. Either I'm hallucinating or you're in love" I blushed.
I guess it's a lot more obvious than I thought it is.
/:Ooookay, hello everyone. I know it's been waay to long for your liking. It's been too long for my liking too.
I had so much stress this past year that I couldn't really get my creative mind working. I was stuck at this one scene and I couldn't figure out how to continue. Then I noticed an unlogical mistake I made in the other chapters and corrected them. So you should totally check them out cuz I changed a few things here and there. And now I finally figured out how to continue.
I've already started with chapter five and I will try to finish it as soon as possible and upload it immediately afterwards. You deserve it after waiting for so long. With that said, have a nice day, enjoy the chapter and I'll see you around for the next one.
Until then take care of yourselves, drink, eat and sleep enough and don't let bad days take you down.
Bye humans
