Rubys POV:

"I think I saw an angel!"

Yang looked at me wierdly. "You … what?!" She asked, confusion written all over her face. "I think I saw an angel, Yang!" I repeated. "Okay? And where is this 'angel' you saw?" Yang looked around, searching for her.

I sighed. "She went away after you appeared. You scared her away!" I pouted. "Aww, c'mon sis. Don't be like that. You know I love ya'. And I know you love me too!" She grinned at me. We started walking in the direction of the school. "Yes, I do. But that doesn't change that she went away because of you!" I mock fought. "Chill, chill! So, who is your 'angel'?"

"That's it! I don't even know her! I just saw her and... and… Yang! She was so beautiful!" Yang laughed. "Don't laugh at me! You would say the same if you'd seen her!" "Would I?" She challenged.

"Yes, you would!" I replied. "She wore a white dress which hugged her form perfectly. Her eyes were a light blue, colored like the sky on a sunny day. A scar over her left eye which didn't harm her beauty in any way. And her snow white hair: like she was born from the snow itself. A snow-angel. Queen of the beauty she symbolises so perfectly."

I was snapped out of my daydream when Yang started to laugh uncontrollably. "You…" she said in between laughter "You should've seen your face! You sound like a lovesick teenager!" She burst out into another fit of laughter. We were passing the schools Gates. People started looking at Yang like she was crazy.

"It's okay. Just laugh at me. It's not like you were in love many times before and told me everything about them. And sounded like a lovesick teenager too! And I didn't laugh, did I?" She stopped. "You're right, sis. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have trampled on your feelings like that." She looked at me. "But I just realized you've got a crush on the heiress to the Schnee Jewelry Company, alias Weiss Schnee aka 'Ice-Queen'."

I stared at her. "Now way! That's her?" I asked, shocked. And even more so as Yang just nodded. I hung my head. "That's typical of me! Falling in love with a girl I will never have a chance with. Great!"

Yang laid a hand on my shoulder. "Hey, don't talk like that. Maybe you actually have a chance with her. I mean, do you see the way she's looking at you? She totally has the hots for ya'!"

I looked up. "What're you talking about? She's…" I saw her, standing with a blue haired boy but looking at me. "Go get her, Sis!" Yang said and shoved me a bit causing me to stumble a step forward. I took another step and then the blue haired guy stepped in front of her, his back facing me.

I turned back to Yang. "She already has a boyfriend it seems." I said, fully aware of the disappointment in my voice. "Told ya' I've got no chance." She patted me on the back. "I've got you. You're going to be fine. You'll see!"

We entered the school, although the first period doesn't start for 10 minutes. But because I'm new, I still have to pick up my schedule and be guided to my first lesson, as well as get introduced to the rules.

When we arrive at the office, Yang said "Good luck sis. see ya' later in class." Then she left and I entered the office.

Glinda Goodwitch, the secretary as well as teacher in combat and co headmistress, sat at her desk and was  doing some paperwork. I cleared my throat. She looked up. "Miss Rose, is it?" She asked. I nodded yes. She gave me my schedule and explained: "Smoking or drinking is not allowed on school grounds. Violence outside of combat classes is not permitted..." and all the other typical stuff. But one thing is new:

"You will be in a team of four people. You will share a room and work together for your time in this school. The rest will be explained in your first lesson by doctor Oobleck." She guided me to the room where my first lesson is going to be. "Good luck" she said then she disappeared.

I took a deep breath and entered the classroom. When I looked around, I saw the girl from this morning again. The only free seat in the classroom was between her and Yang. Thanks for doing this to me, Sis! Sometimes I'm not sure if you want to help me or make my life a living hell.

I have no other choice. So I go over there and sit next to the girl and my sister.  Yang was talking to a girl with black hair and a black bow on top. She had Amber eyes and was laughing about something my sister said.

"Hello." The voice of an Angel spoke to me from my left side. I turned to the white haired girl and was once again hit by how beautiful the girl in front of me was. I found my own voice again and said "H-hi." Wow Ruby. That was the best you could've said? Do you want her to think you're braindead? Do something!

"I'm Ruby." I said, holding out my hand to her. She took it and answered "Weiss." Plain and simple. "Nice to meet you." I said, and tried my best not to embarrass myself in front of this beautiful girl. "Likewise" she replied. One word. Again.

Holding a conversation with her is going to be more difficult than already expected. I thought about what to say next but luckily I didn't have to because the teacher entered the room. Only then did I notice that the girl - No, Weiss - was still holding my hand. She noticed too and let it go like it was made of fire.

"Hello student and welcome to your first day of school. My name is Bartholomew Oobleck and I'm your teacher in history, chemistry and math, as well as your group leader for coming school trips. I'm going to explain everything you need to know today and help you find your right partners and teammates. Any questions?" He said so fast that I had a difficult time trying to understand what he just said.

This is going to be interesting. I thought.
