Run Away- Choi Hyunsuk

CHAPTER 3

Seunghee POV

Not even 30 minutes after I got home, Hyunsuk came back. Seunghun beat me to asking him what was up. He didn’t answer and just stared in front of him as he took his spot on the couch. Seunghun and I shared a knowing look and decided not to ask any more questions. But I couldn’t help but wonder why he was so down. Choa liked him first so why would he be like this? 

I went to my bedroom and texted her about it.

Me
Dude what happened?

Choa
He said he likes someone else
But he told me who it was and I’m okay with it

Me
Who was it?

Choa
Confidential.

Me
Did you at least split the bill?

Choa
I gave him more than enough to pay for it all and then told him to spend the rest for himself

Me
I tried so hard to set you guys up
And for what 😐

Choa
Well I do know that he doesn’t hate you

Me
Really :0

For the next while, I stared at my ceiling, wondering why Hyunsuk wouldn’t talk to me, even if he doesn’t hate me. He practically lives here and he doesn’t hate me but he also never talks to me.

Just as that thought came into my head, Seunghun announced that he was going to the store to buy groceries, leaving me and Hyunsuk all alone together.

“Choi Hyunsuk,” I demanded, marching into the living room.

“Kim Seunghee.” He responded, looking very startled.  His words seemed to surprise him as well as me.

“Why don’t we talk?” I asked, hoping that he would answer truthfully.

“I… Don’t know?”

“I mean, you practically live in my house, so I see no reason why you wouldn’t at least try to talk to me.”

“I don’t see a reason to talk most of the time.” 

His response stumped me and I was rendered speechless just like that. I stormed back to my room and huffed, throwing a pillow at the wall.

“There’s nothing to talk about,” I mocked Hyunsuk’s words.

It’s really not hard to just talk. And when I made an attempt to talk, he gave me the driest answer possible. It just doesn’t make sense. There is absolutely no reason for this. 

And that was the reason why I was awake all through that night.
