Johnathan heard a noise outside his room and went to go check it out. he opened then door to find clary on the floor having a hard time breathing and jace standing there looking down at her. Johnathan rushed over to help clary he pushed jace away from her and into the wall. He pulled clary up onto her feet but she lost her footing and fell again. He knew he had to calm her down before he tried to move her again.
" Clary look at me and breath" he said in a calm soothing voice. She did what she was told. Slowly she was able breath again. When she finally calmed down Johnathan picked her up bridal style and carried her into his room but jace blocked him.
" Move jace" Johnathan spat.
"And why would I do that" Jace said with a smug look on his face.
" MOVE OUT OF MY WAY JACE" Johnathan yelled.
Jace did as he was told and moved out of his way and let them go. Johnathan walked into his room and closed the door behind him with clary still in his arms. He put her down on his bed and studied her face.
" What happened?" He asked concerned. She took a deep breath and said " Jace told me what he wanted from me".
" What does he want" he know the answer but he wanted to be sure. She closed her eyes and shook her head. she opened her eyes and tears threatened to spill.
" John I can't. I just cant." she stated trying not to cry.
" It's okay you don't have to" he said.
" But I have to if I don't he will tell father and get you killed" she admitted. He knew she was right but he can't put her through that pain.
" It's okay clary I'll be fine. you don't have to do this for me" Johnathan said.
" Yes I do" she said avoiding eye contact.
" No you don't. I'll be fine".
" NO YOU WONT. I can't lose you. and don't say I won't because If I don't do this I will" she stated. He knew she was right but everything counted on one person jace. Can they really trust him or will he still tell once he gets what he wants. Clary. Johnathan can't put her in danger not like this.
