°• At Vox Tower •°
"Imagine having enough ego to name a building after you." I complained, shutting the car door behind me.
Entering the building, I'm greeted by all the employees as I walk towards the elevator. Looking through my phone, I notice a certain someone join my walk.
"Sup." Daust nudged my shoulder. Her hands were occupied with paperwork and a mug of filled with...well I don't know but hopefully coffee.
"Busy morning?" I ask, putting my phone away.
"Just went by and got the extra information needed for my final touches to Vox's upload." Flipping through the top pages as we entered the elevator.
"What level?"
"...oh! Ten."
°• In Vatchel's Office •°
"Well, that's done with." I said, closing my tabs and files. Standing from my chair, I pick a cigarette on the way and begin to smoke.
My office has a good view over Pentagram City.
I breathe in and release, watching tinted blue smoke leave my mouth. The sound of explosions and gunshots echoed throughout the city along with screams and pleas for help.
I rolled my eyes and shut them. Enjoying my sense of sound go numb and silent until I hear gentle knocks on my office doors.
"What?" I quickly groan, pressing my cigarette into an ashtray.
The doors open slowly and quietly, revealing my tiny imp assistant that barely reached my hips. Clearing her throat, she begins to speak.
"Your 12 o'clock expresso and bullets you requested, ma'am." The imp walked over with a tray, handing me my coffee and pack of bullets.
"Thank you. Anything else?"
"Ah yes. Vox called and may have... accidentally put you as his designated driver...instead of Janet..." She slowly covered herself with the tray, waiting for my outburst.
"He did what?"
°• On the phone with Vox •°
"I AM NOT YOUR DESIGNATED DRIVER, VOX!" I yelled into the phone, pointing at it aggressively.
"First of all, don't yell at me. Second, I fired Janet." Vox said.
"You...you fired Janet?! Why?!"
"She's ugly and can't handle Valentino." Vox firmly stated. I groaned, pressing my eyebrows together.
"Plus...when you drop me home, we can...play some video games~?" He whispered.
Enraged and a little flustered at his playfulness, I snap back to reality and testify.
"If you get a new driver, I'll-" Vox interrupts me.
"You'll what? Don't forget who signed who's contract." I was silenced.
I come to the realisation that Vox would only talk to me like this if there was something or someone important nearby or watching.
Angry but with little choice on the situation, I groan in defeat and agree to being Vox's driver for the night.
"Good." Vox stated, firmly but quickly whispering, "Video games~" before hanging up.
I roll my eyes with a smirk on my face. "Yeah I don't work like that Vox..." I say to myself quietly.
