I walk into the main lounge of the compound where everyone is sitting around the TV. I walk forward next to Hadley, trying to see what is on the TV. Upon the screen, it seems to be a press conference presented by the King and Queen. The banner going by at the bottom of the screen reading

NEW EXECUTIVE ORDER: FIND ALL RARITIES. PUT A STOP TO THEM.

My heart drops and I knew it would just be a matter of time. Someone would find me, turn me in, or worse. I'm not going to get out of this. I immediately bolt out of the compound. Somehow do so without facing the guards at the gate and run all across the old New York land to Brooklyn to find my family. They may not be Rarities, but they are related to one and who knows what they will do to them. I have to protect the people I love.

I finally reach the house, seemingly faster than what it should have been. I run inside, busting down the door. Everyone's heads whip towards me with confused and nervous eyes. Mom, Dad, and Owen all come over to me in inaudible voices asking me what's wrong and what happened. I somehow can understand them, and I explain not what I am but that I must get them out before something worse happens.

As if on cue, I hear the heavy footsteps of soldiers pounding down the street, all with different abilities who could easily take me out with their training and power. Against what, me, a weak Rarity who has no control. I instantly look over to my family once realization hits and I start rushing them out the back door.

We start running out the back and through the neighborhood alleyways. The sudden pounding of footsteps behind us drags my feet further on. An unusual tingling arises in my hands, almost as if electricity were surging through me. I look down to see a bright, violet ... I don't even know what to call it. It was like... magic. The electric, tingling feeling spread through my fingertips up into my arms, making all my nerves seem to vibrate.

The heavy, pounding, fast-paced footsteps grew louder behind us as I encourage my family to run faster. We move together, further, and further ahead. Until, in a matter of seconds, my family is gone. Disappearing out of thin air. I stop abruptly in my tracks, panic quickly filling me. I hear rustling in the leaves and grass behind me, whipping around to see myself back in the city, people surrounding us, and a herd of soldiers blocking my view from the commotion.

I quickly bring the energy back to my fingers, feeling the magic flowing throughout every vein, muscle, and bone in my body. "Where... are they?" I ask sternly, feeling a sudden wave of confidence wash over me. One of the Dominion officers turns towards me, seeming to tower over me making me shrink back, flushing all of the newfound confidence out of me.

"See for yourself." He says with a menacing smirk, turning towards the center of the huddled crowd. I push through the crowd and officers. My heart drops instantly to my feet as I see my mom, dad, and brother knelt on the ground, hands rested on their heads and frightened looks in their eyes.

"P-please! Please don't hurt them!" I cry, sobbing at the sight of them.

"Turn yourself in or they die." The commander demands, towering over my shaking body.

"P-p-please!" I cry again. A sudden, lock cock of multiple guns and an earsplitting bang rang out. Everything went black.

"NO!" I scream, tears streaming down my face and my heart thumping loudly in my chest. I look around rapidly, a few of the girls already awake looking at me with wary eyes. "S-sorry," I whisper loudly, turning towards the clock on the wall observing the time.

Today beings the first of many weeks and months of learning how to control and manipulate our elements. After changing and sluggishly moving down the floors of the compound to the main floor, I find Hadley and Matthew at a table, a large mug of coffee in hand.
