It was Friday, finally. Nellie wore her nicest outfit to work, a cute skirt and shirt, just for her Bucky. She'd taken her Jeep, the car Bucky had so generously bought for her, and arrived at work early. It was an average day, making all sorts of treats, and serving customers. Fridays weren't particularly busy, which is why she always finished at 1.
Of course, Bucky knew this. He'd arrive at her work at 12.30, ordering whatever was freshly baked. And he'd wait for her pretty little body to appear in her car within 30 minutes.
"Hey, baby. Did you like the treats?" Nellie asked, pulling the seatbelt over her chest, and smiling hopefully at him. Bucky nodded, placing a kiss on her cheeks and starting the car. Nellie could see he dressed up for her; one of her favourite suits, and snazzy sunglasses. He always looked dapper, she'd either seen him in a suit, or naked. No in between. Although, she wasn't surprised, as she'd never slept at his home. The only places they could hang out and sleep together where in hotels, in his cars, and in his jet. No matter how many times she pleaded, he'd always say no to taking her home.
"Ready to go shopping, Princess?" Bucky cooed, swiping his thumb down her face. He could never deny that she was beautiful. So gorgeous, which is what made it so hard for him. His jealousy would always get the best of him, women and men looking her up and down in either envy or lust. He'd gotten into a few fights about it.
Nellie, smiling at his roster of pet names, admired the view of her boyfriend as his car sped down the road. She watched his knuckles, and how they supported the weight of his rings, his lanky fingers which could do just about anything. He was like a God. Having a partner on this scale of attractiveness proved to be difficult. Girls that passed them both, batting their eyelids at him, but his eyes were only on her. She's all he wanted.
Walking around the mall, to various stores, the weird looks were inevitable. Nellie only being 21, but her boyfriend being 35, you could see the clear age difference. But neither cared. They'd been in and out of Nellie's favourite stores, finally arriving at a cute store that had just opened up.
Bucky's usual routine whilst Nellie shopped was simple. Just sit on the chair outside the dressing room, and wait for her to show herself off for him. She brought back carts worth of clothes, giving Bucky his very own private runway. Luckily the store was very empty, because of how expensive it is.
"Baby," Nellie called out to her boyfriend, who sat patiently waiting for her next outfit, "our 6 month anniversary is coming up." This was Bucky's first real relationship. Every other girl was just sex, but Nellie was different. Nellie was his all and everything in between. There wasn't a thing he wouldn't do for her. Things like 6 months together weren't so important to him, but they were important to Nellie. Which is why he did them so often.
"Where do you wanna go?" He questioned. "We could go back to my villa in Athens. Or a nice, cold holiday in a cabin?" He began suggesting things for them to do, but all Nellie wanted was to be in his company. Her boyfriend was a hard-worker, although she never knew the details of what he did. All she knew was that he was a criminal in the law's eyes. But to her — he was a passionate, romantic, hunk of a lover.
"We will think about it." Nellie answered, pulling the curtain that divided the two. Bucky wished there was a store with a dressing room big enough to fit them both in, but he made do with what he could. She was sporting a yellow bralette and matching skirt, the thin material showing her lingerie underneath. "What do you think?"
"Stunning, as always." He replied, quietly. "It's something you'd have to wear light coloured lingerie for, though." As much as he wanted to show her off, and shove it in everybody's face that he got the prettiest one, he couldn't. The men in this city were foul, cruel, they could ruin someone with the innocence of Nellie. She was all his to ruin, nobody else's.
As they walked back to Bucky's car, his hand placed gently into his, she thought back to the time they met. And how much they'd both changed since then.
After her painful breakup with her ex, Elsie and Nova had taken their best friend to the club. Elsie, a short and cute blonde; and Nova, raven haired and sexy, were Nellie's best friends. They all worked at Ruth's, which is how they met. They cared immensely for their Nellie, who was the baby of the group. Both Elsie and Nova were 25 and 27, whilst Nellie only 21.
"Come on, babe." Nova cheered, pulling both girls to the dance floor. "He's gone, you don't have to worry about him anymore." Nellie loved her friends, and how caring they were for her. She let loose, dancing, drinking, just having fun. But she was over it when two hours had passed.
She sat at the bar, ordering another mojito, sighing loudly as she looked at her arms. Covered in bruises. They were beginning to fade, hence the ugly yellow-brown colour.
"You okay, doll?" That was the first she'd ever heard of Bucky. She felt her heart eyes appearing when she looked at him, his smirk stabbing her chest repeatedly. All she did was innocently nod, hoping he couldn't see her blush under the flashing lights.
"My name is James." he spoke, his voice comparing to silk. It was husky, deep, and sexy. He waited for her to reveal her name, talking impatiently on the side of his glass. She kept her drink covered with her hand, as she knew the tragedy of women in bars and clubs. "You don't have to do that, doll. I won't hurt you." And for some reason, she trusted him.
"I'm Noelia." Her name was a mouthful, a lot of people getting it wrong in her 21 years of life. They'd emphasise the 'lia' part, which was wrong. The emphasis should be on the 'el'. "Just call me Nellie." He smiled as she held her hand out for him, pressing a short kiss to her knuckles. Even his lips felt like silk.
