it moulds around my skin
begging me to stay put
it caresses me
a slight tickle
as if to ask for permission
the shore is home
to the sweet sizzle of
an evaporating wave
a sound that seems
foreign in a place
as lonely as this

she didn't want to leave
but the wave was coming
and she didn't care
it would hit us
and she didn't care
so when the wave came
face to face with her
she merely smiled
as it grabbed her
and took her for its own
