🚀 TW 🚀 ~ Blood.

-+-+-+-

The clicking of the spinning wheel got all sixteen hearts racing, fifteen with fear and one with excitement. As the clicks slowed, fewer students became filled with terror at the chance of their name being called first lessened, it was similar to students having to do speeches in front of their class.

The wheel finally stopped on a single name, everyone was frozen at the uncertainty of what was going to happen to the student and some were scared this was the end for them all, some thought everyone was about to die one by one.

"Kaito Momota! Come on up to get your prize~ Well, it's more my  prize puhuhuhu!"

With shaky legs, Kaito slowly made his way towards the stage, more terrified than he had ever been in his life. As the boy got close enough to the stage, a chain lashed out and a clamp made its way around his neck, pulling him next to the headmaster.

"Kaito's biggest fear, buckle up kiddos because this will be a wild one!" Monokuma cheered as the lights dimmed as if the start of a movie in a cinema, all students were looking around to see what was going on. Himiko clung to Tenko as she pat the small girls head, ready to protect her at any cost.

Shrieks were heard as the one door that wasn't armoured shut slammed open to reveal... nothing. The door just slammed open on its own with no visible reason. Kaito paled as he started to freak out, although nearly everyone else knew that it was just Monokuma trying to be scary and failing.

Shuichi noticed the figure behind Kaito and opened his mouth to say something before he was met with cold metal to the face. A clamp coming from somewhere under the stage had wrapped around Shuichi's mouth as a sort of gag, preventing him from speaking.

"Anyone else want to try and ruin the fun?" Monokuma whisper-yelled to the students, to which they all shook their heads. "Good. Now ssshhh~"

Miu and Kokichi both slowly made their way over to Shuichi to help him out of the contraption that was causing him to panic. The unlikely pair silently worked together to get the hunk of metal off of the detective's face, Miu tinkered with the mechanics while Kokichi tinkered with the locks and calmed the detective as best he could without letting his act slip. They were doing the best they could in the dim room.

The figure Shuichi saw had now been noticed by all, all but one. Kaito was too focused on Shuichi to notice that there was a girl breathing down his neck. Chills ran down his spine as he turned and finally noticed the girl, her long black hair and bloodshot, fish-like eyes stared into his soul. They both stared at each other, Kaito frozen in fear, before the ghost girl shrieked, blood coming from her mouth and disappearing before it could hit the floor or the boy.

Kaito let out a bloodcurdling scream of horror as he attempted to turn and run, but just succeeded on tripping on his slippers and falling face-first onto the wooden floor. The other students were all shocked, heartbeats were racing and Gonta was on the floor trying not to throw up from the sight of blood with Kaede, Rantaro and Kirumi comforting him.

The girl started floating in the air as she held her hands out. Her hair was waving all around her head as she chanted an ancient-sounding language. A few students turned to silently ask the expert what she was talking about, but all Korekiyo could do was shrug since he knew as much as the rest of them. Just as both Miu and Kokichi got Shuichi's metal gag off of him, it raced toward the ghost girl and started floating around her, slowly joined by other random objects lying around the gym.

Kaito's face was wet with tears as he tried to hide how scared he actually was as the ghost in front of him started wailing louder and louder before she finally screamed so loud that everyone had to cover their ears to stop them going deaf. At the final scream the floating objects fell to the ground and the ghost disappeared, the open door slamming shut as one final scare.

The dimmed lights slowly went back to normal as the stage cleared, the objects suddenly back where they came from. Kaito attempted to stand up but couldn't with his shaking legs, so he just sat on the ground and took deep breaths.

"Now that's the first part over~ Hurry up and do the rest of the boring shit!" Monokuma sighed.

"T-there's more?!" Kaito cried out, confused.

"Why are you scared of ghosts dipshit?!" Miu yelled, trying to get everything over and done with.

"U-uh well-"

"Wait." Rantaro cut Kaito off, approaching the astronaut to help him off the floor and down from the stage. "Give him a chance to collect his thoughts."

"I-I'm fine! I can handle a l-little g-ghost!"

"Sure." Tenko rolled her eyes at the disgusting degenerate, ignoring the fact she was one of the people who screamed the entire time during the ordeal.

"When you're ready Kaito."

"Thanks sidekick!" The astronaut gave Shuichi a thumbs up and toothy grin. "A-anyway..." Kaito took a deep breath to calm his stutter before continuing. "I've been raised by my grandparents, and Grandpa used to always dress up as a ghost when I was a kid to scare me. Since then, I've always been terrified of ghosts. Boy was Grandpa good at scaring people."

"Really? Your grandfather dressed up as a ghost when you were a kid and now you're terrified of them?" Maki sighed.

"Yeah I was expecting something more... cool." Kokichi grinned, hoping to incite a reaction from the astronaut that hated him.

"Hey! It was scary alright?!"

"I'm sure as a kid that would be terrifying!" Kaede spoke up, trying to make people understand Kaito's side of the story.

"Hmm... interesting. So you can have a fear like that just from a family member scaring you as a child? Kekeke." Korekiyo laughed.

"It's okay Kaito, that's a normal thing to be afraid of!" Tsumugi walked up to the still slightly scared boy and hugged him, causing most people to get in on a group hug.

"EW! Enough of this hopeful shit, time to continue with the despair!" Monokuma shouted, breaking apart the group hug as everyone's hearts started racing again from fear of being the next target.
