A couple of weeks had passed since the incident with her father and Y/N was currently sitting in her favourite diner waiting for her friend to arrive after telling her he had something important he needed her to know.
The iconic sound of the bell rang throughout the restaurant, alerting the girl who had absentmindedly been sipping on the milkshake in front of her. Her head shot up to see it was only to meet the warm brown eyes that belong to her best friend.
“Hey Wills” Y/N smiles out, as he takes a seat on the other side of the booth, directly in front of her.
“Hey N/N” He replies, eyes not leaving his hands which were fidgeting in his lap.
“Okay, what’s wrong?” The girl questions, automatically knowing something was wrong.
“Nothing, nothing’s wrong” The male replies, lying through his teeth which was clear by how quickly he replied.
“Well that was definitely convincing, could have won an Oscar with that performance. Now tell me the truth, What. Is. Wrong?”
“Look, I need to tell you something, and you’re probably going to hate me and want nothing to do with me anymore but I need to let you know cause you're my best friend and I don’t want to lie to you.” Willie blurts out, the words pouring out of his mouth.
“Let’s get one thing straight, I will never hate you, no matter what you tell me. Now, what is it Willie you’re scaring me?” The flustered friend responds.
“I’m gay…”
Silence took over the two friends, as Y/N attempted to come up with an appropriate response.
“I mean I don’t blame you, have you seen the girls in this area. God their taste in fashion and music is awful, the guys on the other hand..” Y/N trails off as Willie lets out a stifled laugh.
“All jokes aside though Wills, I could never hate you. I’m just happy that you told me and that you trust me enough to let me in and be part of your life. Plus it means I have some to talk to about cute boys.”
The two friends smile at each other for a minute letting the surroundings and their memories sink in, in hopes that they would remember this moment forever. However, the silence and calmness is quickly broken when Y/N snatches the cherry off the male’s milkshake sparking retaliation from the boy, resulting in the two being covered head to toe in milkshake.
