You had enjoyed the evening with suga regardless of the behaviour some of the boys exhibited and had gone to your own room later than expected, completely drained of energy and struggling to keep your eyes open.

And now you paid the price for it, waking up at half six for an extra run and 'hearty breakfast' was no easy feat.

You and kiyoko stood by the coach in wait for the boys, you had already packed your belongings into a compartment and were ready to go straight home after the match, you were hyper aware of the date afterall.

Mum and dad would be back either this evening or early hours of the morning tomorrow, you had only recieved this news this morning via their assistants email.
And you didn't intend to tell Tadashi until he had played his practice as to not throw him off his reconciliation with tsukishima.

Speaking of those two, they had spoken last night but things didn't seem completely back to normal yet.

"Hey [Name]-chan!" Sugawara's voice made its way to your ears and unintentionally a smile crept upon your lips as you turned to face him "we're ready to go now" he finished.

You climbed on board the coach sugawara and the others not far behind, as they whispered and laughed you couldn't help but eavesdrop slyly hearing mentions of last night thrown around with cheer and even Tsukishima and Tadashi returning back to their jeering and teasing. The coach ride was full of fun and light hearted chatter like this up until it came to a halt, the gym was in sight and the faint shadows of people in red Jerseys had drawn the attention of some of the boys.

Ukai called out lazily "out we go, this is our stop" the cheer was immediately evaporated tension snuck into the atmosphere and it was thick enough to cut with a knife. "Guys! Guys! Calm down these people aren't aoba johsai they probably aren't going to treat you like Tsukishima or oikawa" you called from next to kiyoko earning the attention of the bus, however your eyes instinctively flew to suga's were they were greeted by a gentle stare of their own. The familiar butterflies returned again allowing your smile to warm and further ease the tense atmosphere.

As the boys all lined up to meet their competitors you and kiyoko stood by the side grabbing water bottles from the coach and carrying them into the building.
As you did so you noticed two familiar people lingering by the interior vending machine and came to an abrupt halt.

"Shirabu. Kenjiro?" You called out and whilst hikari wasn't a welcome sight her little brother was usually quite respectful toward you and hadn't ever shown signs of engaging in hikari's venomous games "how come you guys are here?".

You spoke in a forced politeness that kiyoko who had been standing beside you easily picked up on, she quickly put a hand on you shoulder trying desperately to urge you away from the situation.

But before she had any success kenjiro spoke up. "Oh hey, Yamaguchi-san we just stopped to get a snack that's all" he was hasty in his response and made it as brief as possible turning back toward the machine to input his required number.
Hikari though made sure to pipe up.

"Oh look! It's you again are you here with your puny little team of rejects?" Slander dripping from every word as she continued like a petulant child after being denied its favourite toy "Hold on? Where's the bland boy you clung onto so much? Did he leave you so soon!?" A bombardment of questions poured from her mouth but she soon fell eerily silent.

The reason became apparent when you turned around looking at the empty space where kiyoko had been standing, and how the hall was now filling up with the two teams that had previously been greeting one another. Kiyoko had stepped to your side to greet them herself but she clearly seemed tense, just the same as you the comment about sugawara aggravated you more than before. Significantly more. Clenching your fists was all you could do to stop yourself from arguing back and causing a scene.

Sugawara and the three other boys who had witnessed your previous exchange with hikari had noticed her presence but seemed oblivious to kenjiro also being there. "Hikari let's leave, stop causing issues where its unnecessary your just causing issues for our team if you go around causing a ruckus with her now" kenjiro grabbed his sister and with a sharp turn they had left, just in time apparently because the coaches had finally entered the hall and had clearly noticed all the attention being on the area you stood.

"Oi oi, move it boys" coach nekomata grinned "we have a game to play!"

Before the game started sugawara, daichi and a few of the other boys including hinata had swarmed you to ask if you where okay, and whilst you insisted you were fine that didn't stop a few of the red clad cats from also scooting into the huddle much to your annoyance.

"[Name]-chan, I'm sorry for the swarm a minute ago but we were just worried" suga insisted before introducing you to the nekoma boys who had gotten involved.

"That's kuroo the team captain, that's fukunaga and that's yamamoto" The ashen haired boy grinned pointing to the three boys. "I'm sorry miss!! I just don't want to see a lady cry!" 'Yamamoto' whined followed by kuroo and fukunaga bowing slightly in repent. Slightly embarrassed you waved it off "it's totally fine but you guys should probably get to the game".

And just like that they rushed toward the court stretching and drinking in preparation, you on the other hand went and took a seat beside kiyoko.

"[Name]-san I'm sorry I didn't speak up earlier I just wasn't-" you just breathed out gently and reassured her "its my problem and besides you didn't even realise what was wrong". Now the atmosphere was cleared up the two of you sat in comfortable silence as the team played their first set.

After several more matches night had begun to fall and you had been putting off leaving for a while, however the more you put of leaving the less time you'd have to prepare for your parents return and you grew increasingly aware of the fact.

But before you could request to leave with the benched tadashi ukai had already called a stop. So you quickly ran toward him and informed him that you wouldn't be able to help pack up and that you needed to take yourself and your brother home.

"Hm. Sure but remember to say goodbye to your bo-...friend sugawara knowing him he'll probably worry if you leave so suddenly" ukai grunted and once he had seen your nod of acknowledgement he simply turned away.

"Suga! Tashi!" The boys turned their heads to face you and ran over quickly. "what's up [Name]?" Your brother questioned. "We need to leave now mum and dad are probably on the way home already, I just needed to tell you to grab your stuff and get ready to leave" you smiled turning to sugawara next "...and I just wanted to say thanks for worrying earlier suga-kun" the end of your sentence had caused a swirl of emotions in sugawara only causing him to flare a bright crimson red and stutter his response like a giddy middle schooler.

"Y-yeah see you tomorrow"

And so you, ignorant still of Sugawara's schoolboy crush and your own feelings left with Tadashi in tow.
