{ prologue 2/2 }

{age: 8}

the ackerman twins were hanging out with their first friend, itadori yuuji, at the park close to their house.

they were playing and laughing, having a good time with each other. they have been playing over a few hours, knowing it's already sunsets, and they have been out for a while now.

till the Ackerman's twin mother called out to them, "levi! akane! it's time to go, say goodbye to yuuji-chan!"

the twin nodded and they looked at their friend, "bye guys, let's meet up again!" he nodded and forbid their goodbyes.

they twins ran over to their mother, as each other grabbed the mother's hand.

as they walked themselves home, having a chat on the way. but the twins felt something bad is going to happen, but they shrugged it off and kept ongoing.

as they made it to their home, the mother sat them in the living and told them she brings something for them.

the twins sat in the living room and waited for their mother to come back, akane turned her body to her twin.

"levi, what do you think she going to give us?" he shrugged and looked at her, "i don't know, but i felt something weird on our way home. did you felt it too?"

akane nodded, "yea, though maybe it was nothing. probably an abandoned animal out there"

levi nodded and see their mother coming out with her arms behind her back, her knee in front of them.

"okay, my angels, i want both of you to close your eyes and extend your arms out" the twins looked at each other and nodded then followed her words.

the twins extend their arms out as kuchel brought her arms out and placed a box on their hands.

the twins opened their eyes and see a box, they looked at their mother with a confused face.

she chuckled and pat their heads, "open it, i think you two will find it interesting and maybe try it out. it's your ancestor's old books"

the twin's eyes widen knowing she what means, they immediately opened the box seeing a book.

akane book says, "sun breathing techniques" and levi book says, "moon breathing techniques"

they smiled and hugged their mother, "thank you, mama! we love it!" their mother chuckled and hugged her kids.

"you're welcome, maybe you two can do those moves on the book" as she let go of the twins, their eyes full of sparkles, and nodded in agreement.

"okay, it's past your bedtime you two. let's get you two to bed" they nodded and follower their mother to their room, she tucked the twins at their bed and kissed them goodnight.

{midnight}

the twins are sleeping till they heard screaming, they immediately woke up and ran to their mother's room, seeing she isn't there.

"stop it!!!!" their eyes widen knowing it their mother scream coming from the living room, they immediately went over there and see their mother struggling fighting with an older male.

the twins stood there frozen and seeing their mother injured, sees few deep cuts on her body and a big, long one at her chest.

the older male chuckled and slit her throat, the twin's eyes widen as their mother looked at them holding her throat to stop the bleeding.

"i- I lo-ve y-you to-two" as she closed her eyes with a sad smile on her face, the male dropped her and see the twins looking shocked.

he chuckled and walked over to them, he grabbed akane by the hair having his knife at her throat.

but something snapped between the twins, akane got her pointer and middle finger at his throat making him cough and dropped akane.

then levi got a broken wooden chair and swing it to his ankle, as he falls to the ground holding his ankle, making the ankle bleed.

then the twins got any broken glasses pieces and stabbed him on his sides, repeating it stabbing him over and over again.

later, police officers busted in and see the twins with their dead mother, they asked the questions by didn't speak.

they called relatives to tells the news, but no one picked up the call, the twins went to the office station with their bags, with the book their mother gave them and them holding their hands.

a person came into the door the twins looked up, seeing yuuji with his grandfather.

the pink-haired boy immediately went over to the ackerman twins as their grandfather talked to the officers.

"i'm so sorry what happened to you guys," yuuji said hugging them, levi and akane hugged him back.

"it's okay," Akane said, he noticed their eyes are different.

dull.

their eyes are dull.

it's not how it used to be, it was full of happiness, now it's just empty and emotionless.

the grandfather walked over to the twins, he kneels in front of them.

"levi. akane. you two are going to stay with us, well take care of both of you" the twins nodded, he nodded and grabbed his grandson's hand.

the Ackermans twins grabbed their hands and walking behind them, "it's happening all over again, I guess we don't deserve happiness at all" the twins thought to themselves.
