It was just a usual Monday morning. I woke up, showered, got into my robes and dried my hair before waiting for my roommates so we could head to breakfast. I plopped onto my bed and took out my favourite book, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them' by Newt Scamander. Newt really knew a lot about magical creatures! I've always adored magical creatures, wanting to learn as much about them as I can. I had just gotten to the page on Thestrals when the book was torn from my grasp. "Come on y/n/n! We can't be late for breakfast again!" Marlene laughed, throwing my book on the bed beside me. "You're trying to blame me for us being late? I've been ready for 20 minutes Marls!" I laughed as I got up and headed for the door. Lily groaned "Another day of Potter's rubbish. I don't understand why he's so obsessed with me!!" She whined as we all headed downstairs. "Lily, if I had a boy like James Potter pining after me, I wouldn't be complaining! Almost every girl in the school fancies him!" Mary said, sounding a little too happy on the subject of James. "And I'll never understand why that is, Mary. He is undoubtedly the most egotistical, big-headed boy I've ever met!" Lily chuckles. I turned to her and raised an eyebrow. "Then you, my dear Lily, have never met Sirius Black!" I laughed. The girls all laughed with me as we made our way into the great hall. We took our usual seats at the table and waited for our food to appear.

Not even 20 seconds after we entered the hall, the infamous Marauders sauntered in. Remus and Peter both sat nearby, smiling kindly at my friends and I. I sent Remus a small smile, being closest to him out of the four. Really, all of the marauders are real sweethearts. Well, except for Sirius. That boy is as big headed and idiotic as they come! I mean, he declared himself the, and I'm quoting him here, 'Heartthrob of Hogwarts'. I mean, can you believe that?! How big headed to you have to be to think you have all the girls after you? Honestly! Anyways, James plopped himself down between Lily and I, giving me a hopeful smile before looking back to Lily. I sent James a small smile. I got on with him really well, he just had to calm down his ego a bit for Lily to finally go out with him. Not a second later, Sirius Black planted himself beside me. I huffed and gave Marlene and Mary, who were sat across from Lily and I, a pleading look to save me. All they did was laugh and shake their heads.

I looked quickly to Sirius, who had his usual confident grin, before looking down to my plate. "Good morning, my dearest y/n/n" Sirius said in his usual overconfident tone. "Morning, Black" I said, not even glancing up from my plate. "You know, it would be absolutely lovely if you'd look at me, my dear." He chuckled. I sighed, rolling my eyes as I met his gaze. "There are those eyes I adore so much!" He smirked. "Sirius, how many times do I have to tell you? I'm not going to go out with you!!" I groaned. Sirius slowly started to snake his arm around my waist. I swatted it away almost instantly. "Sod off, Sirius!" I groaned. I heard a slight snicker come from across the table. I looked up and shot a glare to Marlene and Mary which only made them laugh.

Sirius was just about to make another move on me when the food appeared. Thank Merlin for the amazing timing!! I quickly ate my toast before running off to my first class, trying to get away from Sirius as fast as possible. I made my way down to the dungeons and awaited outside for Professor Slughorn to let us in. Thankfully, Potions was one of every few classes that I didn't have with Sirius. Even though the teacher was very biased towards Slytherin house.

We walked into class and took our seats. I got sat next to James in this class which was always very entertaining. "What line was it he used today then?" James asked as he plopped down next to me. "Today, he was calling me 'dearest' and 'my dear' which is always a delight" I chuckled. Just as James opened his mouth to talk again, Professor Slughorn began his lesson. "Good morning, students! Welcome to today's potions lesson!" He announced, making all the chatter fall to silence. "Today, as you are a very advanced class, we will be looking at some very strong potions. These potions are Felix Felicis, Veritaserum and Amortentia. Now, who can tell me what each of these do?" Slughorn asked, scanning the room. No hands were raised so he picked the first person his gaze landed on. James. "Mr Potter? Care to enlighten the class?" The Professor asked. Everyone looked to James who clearly had no clue what they did. Poor James I thought. Suddenly, I got an idea. I quickly started scribbling down what each potion did before tilting the page in the direction of James. James gave me a grateful smile as he read aloud. "Well, Professor Slughorn, sir. Felix Felicis, more commonly known as liquid luck, is a potion that makes the drinker lucky for a period of time. Veritaserum is a powerful truth potion. Finally, Amortentia is the most powerful love potion ever made and has been rumoured to smell different to every person depending on what attracts them." James finished. "Perfectly explained, Mr Potter! Ten points to Gryffindor!" Slughorn smiled, making some of the Slytherin's in the class sneer.
