Dear reader,
This chapter is below the first draft level which means I haven't re-read it yet (I am too sleep-deprived lol), which means the English language will suffer badly. I will be re-reading it soon but I just wanted to warn your poor soul ahead of time.
As always, any help (spelling and grammar particularly) is welcome.
Still, I hope that you enjoy it and as always leave comments (and maybe a vote (ΦωΦ) )

Theo was excited as they approached the old victorian building at the edge of the campus. Despite its appearance and its age, the building was well taken care of. The building stood strong between the vast modernized campus and the forest and mountains behind the school. It used to be the boy's dormitories. Now, only the custodian lived there.
After a stern discussion with the headmistress, the keys to the rooftop had been taken from Quinn and she had gotten detention. It was an ugly mark on her school record but she had already sent her university applications. It didn't matter anymore.
However, she was worried about Mr. Tan. Theo was glad that she had asked him to accompany her. He didn't understand what was the big deal about someone jumping from the rooftop but any excuse to escape from the classroom and from Jon. The bodyguard was particularly
Despite the large bay windows in most of the classrooms, Theo still felt caged. High school hadn't turned out to be everything he had hoped. The classes were tedious and the professor disinterested. Still, he was glad to be able to interact with other people his age.
When he pushed open the doors of the old dormitories, a grand staircase welcomed them. The white marble shone despite the dimly lit entrance. To his left and his right, there were long dark corridors.
"Which way?"
Quinn hesitantly stepped toward the left and Theo followed her.
Due to years of training, his eyes quickly got used to the dark and his ears were attuned to the slightest noise. The clickety-clack of the clocks, the wooshing of the wind and the squeaking of the old doors in response made him feel at ease.
The corridor took them to another crossroad. This time some light filtered from upstairs and Quinn took the stairs on the left. There was another corridor. In this one, the wall lamps were on.
On one of the huge doors, there was a sign with a single Chinese character on it.
Theo could recognize the character despite his wonky knowledge of the language. He pointed towards the door and Quinn nodded.
She knocked on the door. "Mr. Tan, are you here?"
Theo did not perceive any movement from inside. He did not feel like going back yet, so he tried knocking a few more times with no success.
"Maybe he went out..." He tried to turn the doorknob and the door opened.
"Let's wait inside, " he announced triumphantly. Quinn didn't look thrilled but she followed him inside the room.
They were in the living room of what seemed like a bachelor-style apartment. The room was large, quaintly decorated and brightly lit by the sun rays of the setting sun that entered through the glass door. The glass doors, placed on the opposite wall from them, led to a small terrace. The room itself felt homey with the Morrocan rugs, the ivory sofa, the large bookcases and the wooden figurines strategically placed around the room.
