"Did you fall for the same answers again?"
☆☆☆☆Valerie abruptly awoke from her dream-like state and banished all evil from her barren mind and from the very depths of her core. She was an introvert; she stayed to herself. Her lack of family and those from her past have taught her her to be independent and to be weary of those to trust.
Valerie glanced up from the torn and tattered couch and stared at the posh white ceiling to forget the memories of what still haunted her. It was incredibly dim inside of her small cottage-like home, the sunlight peeking in through the dusty curtains. She stood on her feet and neared towards the window where in the distance behind the foam green trees and beautiful flowers stood a man. He looked tired and weak - fragile. Why was he in current isolation in the creepy distance? Although, the same could be asked the same for her.
Before she knew what she was doing she neared the mohagony door and used one hand to grasp the glossy door handle and the other to unlock the deadbolt lock above it. What am I doing?
Valerie unlocked the door and opened the door slowly, only to be startled by the light breeze that was pushing against her long blonde hair, shoving it behind her shoulders. The sunlight barred its teeth at her eyes causing her to slightly squint but never losing sight of the man in the distance. She started forward, walking down the small unkempt trail in front of her house. Her front yard - more like a field was covered in roses and tall, bright sunflowers hunched over and swaying in the slight breeze.
No matter what, her eyes didn't leave the man. Her hands brushing against the sunflowers as she passed by but suddenly, it got darker. The clouds changed to grey and the sun hid behind them like a coward. Valerie jumped and turned when a shock of thunder ruptured throughout the brooding sky but as quickly as she turned her attention back to the man - he was gone.
With a confused look and not wanting to stay in the storm as rain began to pour in heavy droplets, she turned to get back inside of the house. As she moved her feet back down the trail she noticed the green grass was now lifeless. The roses and sunflowers withered and petals decayed. She was now in front of her front door until a thumping noise caught her attention from behind her.
