Valerie was slumped onto the grass next to the vile man that laid even more cold and dead than before. Jessica rushed towards the now-dead man and began nudging him with her black flat shoe to make sure he was really dead―which he was. Luca's crystal orbs fell onto Valerie's sluggish state and rushed towards her and held onto one of her forearms lifting her off of the ground and began walking her slowly to her house―patiently, "Wait for me!" Jessica hollered, moving to grab Valerie's other forearm and grasped it tightly.
The night was even more scary with the midnight sky looming in the distance but it was beautiful―a peaceful sight. There were only three stars in the sky but it still lit up the darkness, lighting it in complete perfection. Every now and then a slight breeze would tingle throughout the air. It would cause the tall grass to sway silently. The silence was uncomfortably fitting but it didn't sit well with Valerie.
"Guys," Valerie slurred once again, she seemed like a droopy drunk while moving her head around to look for her best friend as if she vanished. It looked like she was having trouble moving her head, "I can walk." She attempted to push them off but they weren't having it and her struggle was weak against them.
They walked into Valerie's small home and brought her to the leather couch, "What happened? Do you remember?" Jessica quickly grabbed Valerie's chin and began looking for bruises or bite marks, "Did he bite you?" She slowly dragged out like Valerie was a small child being punished but it was actually for Valerie to better understand her. Valerie shoved her face to the side and away from Jessica's dainty fingers, not appreciating her act at the moment.
"No, I―" she paused and swallowed, grasping as much saliva as possible to quench her thirst. Her throat was tingling and sore and she could almost feel the dry cracks on her tongue. Luckily, when all three of them entered the house, Luca made a beeline for the kitchen and eventually turned the corner with two bottles of water and two tablets in his hands. Valerie was eyeing the water with desire and want.
"Here," he whispered as he walked up to her, "Take these and you'll feel better."He stated with attitude. Did he have a problem with her? She pushed it aside.
She had no problem with swallowing the two white pills which she was assuming were Advil and downing the bottle of water that soon quenched her undeniable thirst. As she finished, Luca gave her the second bottle, "Holy shit." Jessica slowly engaged her eyesight on the side of Valerie's waist because her flesh was exposed. Valerie followed Jessica's worried eyes down to her side and quickly covered the scratch mark that Jessica had clearly seen.
