"Jane..." Connie breathed.

"Janey?" Tom almost seemed to whimper.

"Hi Tom." Jane soothed.

"Are you..." Connie started.

"The car." Jane confirmed.

"How?" Tom blinked.

"When we crashed, the guy on the tape I played to warn you was reading a soul transference ritual." Jane reminded him.

"So your soul... is in the Mustang?" Connie blinked.

"Exactly." Jane sighed, a rattling sound accompanying it.

"That's gotta suck..." Connie winced.

"Why are you only telling me now?" Tom asked.

"I wanted to, but you kept having people in the car." Jane grumbled. "And yeah. It does suck! Especially when you bring me to the shop! There's this boy there who keeps calling me old, and a rustbucket, and freaky-deaky! I don't like it there, Tom. You need to find a new garage."

"But Tony needs the business, Janey..." Tom protested.

"Then at least tell him to fire to mean boy!" Jane begged.

"That's his son." Tom winced.

"There's no winning with you..." Jane sighed. She was one to talk. "Well... maybe you won't have to worry about it either way."

"Why?" Tom blinked.

"Oh no..." Connie bit her lip, connecting the dots between that and her earlier statement. "No, Janey. That's so, so dangerous. You cannot ask us to do that."

"What?" Tom asked, confused.

"You can travel in time, Tom." Jane spoke slowly, as though she were talking to a five year old. "When in time would stop me from ever having to worry about going to the garage?"

"Oh..." Tom seemed to realize. He turned to Connie. "Oh, that's true... we could do that."

"No we can't." Connie shook her head. "Tom, the worst that could happen from what we just did was we got a few new pictures. The worst that could happen with this is we kill someone else and erase things from existence- not to mention the risk of us dying and creating a time paradox. There's this thing called the Butterfly Effect, and I did a project on it once. Long story short... as much as I'd love to, this is an event in history that's too big to change."

"Tom, there are kids who dropped out of school because you had to leave." Jane countered. "Emma's life was turned around. Tim is an orphan. Think of all the good my being alive could do!"

"Connie, she's right." Tom reasoned.

She was right. But... Connie was still massively unsure. Because yes, Jane had brought forth some good points, but... who knows what kind of negative things could happen as a result of her being alive? People who would have gotten hurt in the crash instead... people who could be born and unborn. Still... it'd be nice to have Jane back. It'd be wonderful for Tim to have a mother. Maybe... was it selfish to think that it might be worth it?

"I don't like this..." Connie relented.

"But you'll do it?" Jane checked. Connie sighed.

"Yeah, I'll do it." Connie grumbled.

"Yes!" Jane cheered. "Oh, Connie Bear... I knew I could count on you two!"

"We've got to be really careful though." Connie sighed. "This Tinky doesn't seem like someone we should be messing around with..."
