A/n: Me being me, a million different ideas and concepts came rushing in my head and ultimately changed the way I want this story to play out. Instead of having the story end right after high school, I've decided to extend their story to college life. After all, this book is sort of a slow burn and even though it is "mature" I still want the relationship Y/n has with all the characters to flourish as a slow burn as well.

Not me also incorporating some real life events that happened to me in this story too lol. The real events are mainly all about friendship and angst. Sorry in advance if it's relatable and hits too close to home...

Now! Onto the story!

The first couple of classes pass by fairly quickly. We really only did icebreaker activities with our classmates and had a lot of free time since it's our first day of school. Right after second period, I go out to the vending machines near the cafeteria to choose a snack. All the snacks look absolutely disgusting since all the chips were the baked version of the brand, and they only offered water and a carbonated version for drinks. I sigh and choose a sour cream and onion flavored chip and one cold water.

After finishing up my snacks I go to find my third period classroom. The first bell signaling the end of snack break rings.

Hm... looks like the teacher isn't here yet.

I pull out my phone and scroll through Insta for a bit until it's time for the bell to ring. A few minutes later and a bunch of students accumulate around the door of my classroom. Everyone is talking to their friends, laughing and joking about random things that happened over their Summer break. At this point I'm not sure if I should go up to someone and try to make another friend. Wait... another friend? Did that Bokuto guy from this morning even consider us friends? I only gave him a ride and met him today, so I'm not sure if that equals immediate friendship. Right?

With one minute to spare before being recognized as late, the teacher finally arrives.

"My apologizes kids, the coffee pot in the teachers' lounge was broken!" our teacher whines before unlocking the classroom door.

As we file inside, the teacher announces there are assigned seats. Since this is a literature class, I'm not too surprised with there being a seating chart. Each desk is already paired with another, and on top has a name card with a student's first and last name.

I walk through the rows and find my desk all the way towards the right side of the room. I take my seat which I'm extremely pleased with since now I have a perfect window-view of the outer courtyard of the school. A couple of seconds later, my desk partner finds her way to her seat next to me.

"Hi." a girl with mid-length wavy brown hair whispers to me. "My name is Kimura Mimi!" Mimi introduces with a warm smile.

"Hi, Kimura-san. I'm L/n Y/n, nice to meet you." I introduce, observing her facial features and appearance. "That's a really pretty Van Cleef and Arpels necklace!" The necklace she was wearing stood out immediately to me.

"Aweee thank you! No one I know can remember this brand's name! It's always "the one with the four leaf clover" or "the one with the butterfly" she says sinking into her seat while hers hands fiddle with the necklace.

"I have one exactly like it, though my "four leaf clover" is white! My mother gave it to me for my 16th birthday. Maybe I should wear it tomorrow so we'll be twinning!" I suggest while chuckling.
