After a long study session of pure work and focus, we walked back to our dorm together just as the sun began to set. As we were passing a huge window with a perfect view of the sun going down, I couldn't help but stop and admire the sky's beauty of amber colors mixed with the beautiful saturated blue of a sunny day. The glow of the sun's rays were mesmerizing and almost calming in a way. The majestic arrangement of colors around the bright sun that gives us warmth almost felt like the sky's melody, or poetry being read by the graceful star that is our sun. I felt that after the long day I had, this was a perfect way to end it.

Snapping me back into reality, King questioned me saying, "Are you just gonna stay here or are you gonna come back to the dorm?"

"I'm sorry, I thought the sunset looked really nice..."

"Don't say sorry. I can partially agree with you there, it looks kind of cool."

Quickly catching up with my new, but scary, friend that is my upperclassman, we made our way to our dorm.

When we arrived at our dorm, King's cup of coffee I was greeted with earlier when I came back from my classes was on the counter, now freezing cold from how long we had been gone at the library. He looked down at his white mug filled with visible disappointment. The mug was a little less than half full, so he wasn't that close to finishing it.

"Um, do you want a fresh cup?", I hesitantly offered him.

"What?"

"I don't mean to brag, but I know how to make a pretty good coffee."

"Hm, alright. Let us see if your confidence really amounts to something."

Determined to make a good impression, I went to the expensive-looking coffee pot and started to prepare everything for King's coffee. After I got everything ready and let the coffee begin to brew in the coffee pot, I looked back at King who was sitting on a stool at the counter, looking at me with interest. When he noticed that I had looked back at him, he quickly turned his head and stared out the window at the sun that had almost fully set.

After waiting in silence for the coffee to finish, I poured some into a clean mug, but completely identical to the last one, and placed the mug in front of King.

"Let's hope you didn't poison it."

"Hey, I would never! Don't say cruel things like that."

King gripped the handle and took a sip of the coffee I prepared for him. As soon as the coffee dripped onto his tongue, he froze like he had just seen a ghost and set the mug down.

"I'm so sorry, is it bad?--"

With total shock, King jumped up from his seat and yelled, "THIS IS THE BEST COFFEE I'VE DRANK IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!"

I stood there with a mix of confusion and excitement, confusion because I never thought he could be this happy or something as simple as coffee, and excited because he really seems to enjoy it. He sat back down and took another sip with a light smile, not realizing he wasn't showing me a side of him I never imagined he could have.

"Hey, sorry if this is too soon, but can I call you Ty? It's a lot easier to call you Ty instead of Tycho, your name is pretty complicated on it's own. No offense by the way."

"Sure, I like the nickname anyways, I'm really thankful you enjoy my coffee."

"How did you learn to make such a good coffee? I need to know your secret."

"Oh, um, I don't have one."

"Bullshit, I don't believe that for a second."

"No seriously, I don't have any secret to making coffee."

"I'll find out one day, mark my words, Ty."

King walked into his bedroom with his warm cup of coffee that I made for him with a smile on his face. I'm surprised I got to his good side so quickly, he doesn't seem like a person who can be so friendly once you get to know him and spend almost the whole day with him. How did I even manage to pull it off? I guess I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, or judge an upperclassman by how he acts on the outside.

Tuckered out from the eventful day that I had, I went into my room to relax and reflect on everything that happened today. Like in the morning, I flopped onto my fluffy bed, still in my uniform and staring up at the blank ceiling. I made a friend on the first day, despite his dark demeanor, and got through all of my classes just fine. I don't think this day was so bad after all. I soon started to feel my eyes shut like a door being closed and opening another one to welcome a new day.

But that was short lived. I woke up in the middle of the night to hear shuffling from the main room of my dorm. I slowly sat myself up and got out of bed, trying not to startle whoever was up this late at night. I shouldn't be so scared though, it's probably just King getting a midnight snack. When I got to my door, I cracked open my door to give me just enough room to see what was happening.

Though it was just as I suspected, King was up late at night. But, it didn't look like he was getting a snack, it looked like he was...getting ready for something? He had a leather jacket on and a black and red striped sweater and began to open the door to leave. I had to investigate this, King can't just be going out late at night for some kind of stroll, I have to see what he's up to! Frantically, I put on a different outfit and grabbed my coat, along with my purse, and ran after him.
