After they'd watched the projection, Tony and Pepper went back to the tower, whilst the avengers went to the compound.
Tony and Pepper were alone in the tower when the got back and only had FRIDAY there with them. But neither of them minded, both quite thankful to be alone to grieve. Pepper went up to her office, whilst Tony went to his lab. When he got in there, he went to put his jacket down but when he did, he felt a strange weight he hadn't noticed before. His eyebrows furrowed as he lifted out an envelope from his pocket.

Tony couldn't help the half smile, half sob that came out as he looked at the first photo.

It was of him and Pete from before the snap when everything was just fine. Peters messy curls were left free from any gel that day, which Tony liked as he would always run his fingers through them when they had movie or lab nights.
The next one was clearly from the wedding day as Peter was wearing his suit except from the blazer and bow tie.

Then he looked down at the next photo and chuckled.

It was of Peter and him after a battle, when Pete got hurt and didn't tell him, so he threw the boy over his shoulder and carried him back to the quinjet when he found out.
Tony felt the tears falling from his eyes as he collapsed into a nearby chair. Every second since his underoos had died, he felt numb. The boy was like his son, exactly how'd he'd imagined his boy (if he were to ever have one) to be.
"Oh Pete..." he sighed sadly as he put the photos in his pocket and walked out of the lab, lights shutting off behind him.
If only he'd stayed another second, to glance behind him. He'd have seen the translucent figure standing there with a sad smile. He'd of seen his kid one last time.

A few months after the funeral, Tony and Pepper finally got married.

It would have been a small service, considering only the avengers, guardians, May, Happy and Peppers family were there but with the considerable amount of damn superhero's, it was a huge wedding.
Like promised, Tony helped look after Petra, even going as far as allowing her, May and Happy to have their own floor in the Tower to raise her in. Petra called him uncle Tony, which said man loved. He made sure to teach her everything he knew Peter would have, from mechanics to chemistry to ruddy pop culture references.
But most importantly, he told her stories all about he daddy and how he was an amazing superhero and saved the entire world and universe. She obviously didn't understand just how he'd saved them, or why he had to die but she knew enough. She knew that he loved her, her mummy, auntie May, uncle Happy, uncle Tony and all the other superhero's.
