Anna ran to her husband looking very concerned. "Iris left a letter. She said that she's going to tell Scotland Yard what she knows about Green's death."
"What? I don't understand. What can she tell them?"
"I don't know, but it worries me. I hope that she doesn't get herself into trouble. What should we do?"
"Well, I suppose I could go and see what she's up to..."
"I want to come to."
"I don't want you going near the police. You've had enough of seeing policemen."
"We're both tired of issues with the police. And now Iris is in trouble. We have to help her."
"You should stay here. You are pregnant after all. You don't need anything that'll make you excited."
"So I'll just stay here and worry..." Anna stopped as she saw Iris enter the servant's hall. She walked up and hugged Iris. Bates hugged her too.
"I'm so sorry to worry you, Anna especially in your condition." Iris stated feeling a bit guilty.
"What happened?" Bates asked her.
"I'll tell you everything later. Right now what's important is that the woman is out of jail and I'm not in any trouble."
Iris told them her story later. Iris had been in London when Mr. Green died. She had gotten into an argument with him and accidentally pushed him. The police accepted this story because he was her adopted brother. Anna and Bates were very relieved that Iris wouldn't get into any trouble with the police, and that the shadow of Mr. Green might finally be lifted.
"How have you been feeling?" Iris asked Anna later.
"I'm perfectly fine especially now that you're alright."
"I can't wait to be a sister. And I'm also excited about marrying Jack."
