Victoria walked to the front desk to get the new list of the places where she had been reassigned to clean when her boss walked through the door. She stared down at her with disapproval "one of our clients isn't very happy with you and I'm sorry but we need to keep our standards up." Victoria felt her stomach drop, she couldn't believe it, she shook her head, "what are you saying?" She said faintly.
Her boss stared down at her with her arms folded, she sighed in frustration, "what I'm saying is that you are fired." Victoria shook her head, "I've done nothing wrong", her boss raised an eyebrow, "well my client has told me otherwise and if word gets around that my client has complained about you and I'm still letting you work for me then I will lose my business and I can't afford that."

Victoria crumpled up the paper in her hand, she was angry and yet felt defeated, she turned around and without saying anything she walked out.

Lucien opened the car door for Victoria, he noticed the shocked look on her now pale face and the crumpled up paper in her hand and he knew what had happened she looked at him, "I've been sacked", she said in a quiet voice.
He felt his hands tightening on the steering wheel as he drove them both away from the place, "take me home", she said to him before he could speak to her, he nodded, "okay."

Victoria found herself not being able to speak as Lucien drove her home, she wondered what she was going to do now, she needed a new job, she bit her lip as she thought about it.
She looked out of the car window knowing that she shouldn't have went to that damn gala, she went into her house needing to be alone and as she turned to look at Lucien who was standing by his car, she saw he was talking on his cellphone and he was looking very serious.

Lucien walked into his house as he spoke to the investigator who now knew all about Tatiana and her secrets, he had also gotten the investigator to see what had caused Victoria to get fired and just as he knew it was Tatiana.

Victoria, later on that afternoon heard Lucien's knock on her door, she had spent the day feeling angry and upset and above all that worried, she couldn't believe she had lost her job because of a woman telling lies about her.
She got up from the sofa where she was staring at the TV without watching it and she answered the door to Lucien who cuddled her there and then, she closed her eyes and sighed as she cuddled into his chest.

She looked up at him and she could see by his expression that he was blaming himself, she reached up on her tiptoes and kissed him, "I said yes to going to the gala, so it's not your fault", she said quietly to him as she closed the door and led him into the living room.

Lucien sat on the sofa next to her, he shook his head, he was shocked that she wasn't blaming him,"if I didn't ask you to the gala then you would have still had your job." Victoria shook her head, "I'm not going to argue with you", she ran a hand through her hair, "I'm more bothered about looking for a new job."
Lucien took hold of her hand as he turned to her, he was angry, "it was Tatiana that made you lose your job, she complained about you to your boss and that is why you got fired but as I said before that I have secrets I know about her and I can easily expose them."

Victoria nodded, she had a feeling that he was talking to someone about them secrets this morning and she found herself getting more curious. "What are the secrets?" She asked him as she leaned against him, he chuckled, "you'll have to wait but I can guarantee that you will be the first one to find out."

Lucien wrapped his arm around her, he knew he had to tell her what he had done for her, "you have nothing to worry about." She scoffed, "I have a lot to worry about seeing as I have no job and I can't afford this house anymore so that means I'm going to have to move!"
Lucien kissed her lips to stop her from talking, "I'm serious", he took a deep breath, he hoped she was going to be happy when he told her, "I've bought this house for you."

Victoria blinked as if she hadn't heard him, "what?" She knew what he said but she couldn't believe what she was hearing.
He entwined his fingers with hers. "I bought your house for you but it wasn't today that I did it, it was last week", she shook her head and frowned, "why?" He shrugged, "because I wanted to", he smiled, "I have no explanations", he did it because he was the happiest he had ever been.

He couldn't remember the last time he had been seen in magazine articles and he found he enjoyed having a private life and he knew it was all down to her, he kissed her softly, "please just accept my gift", he couldn't help but smile at her shocked face and her big wide eyes.

Victoria nodded because what else could she do? "Yes I accept it", she sat down on his lap, "thank you", she kissed him heavily, she felt lighter knowing that the worry over her house was gone.

Lucien ran his hands down her back, "why not come to my house for a change?" He said as he kissed along her neck, Victoria grasped his shoulders, she moaned with her eyes closed, "that sounds good", she sighed wondering if it was possible to move as she felt good in his arms.
