*Jack's POV*

Maybe Matty would bury Mac under the ground for what he did today, but taking a look at Jacelynn's parent's faces, I think Riley, Bozer and I made a silent agreement that we'll take Mac's side, no matter what were the consequences. Mac truly did love her. All four of our phones buzzed at the same time, alerting us that it was none other than Matty. 

War room ASAP! 

Mac looks up at us, "I can't go just yet." 

"And we're not asking you to. Stay here, we'll deal with her for some time, let her take off some heat on us."

 The three of us walked out of the hospital and into my car, then drove off to the HQ. Reaching there we spot Matty waiting for us at the entrance. 

"Okay so she is definitely more pissed than we originally thought she would be," Bozer says from the backseat. 

"Well how angry did you think she was gonna be?" I say, pulling the neutral gear and stepping out of the car, Riley and Boze following me. 

"Where's Blondie?" Matty asks us, as soon as we're close enough to be able to hear her. 

"He's still at the hospital." She sighs deeply, and shakes her head in disappointment, turning around and walking in, expecting us to automatically follow her which we did. Walking in the war room she turns and starts, "What the hell is wrong with you?!" I take a step to talk but she puts her hand out to stop me. "Mac definitely lost his mind because of the girl but what happened to the three of you? Did you also lose your mind as well? I gave clear orders to not let Murdoc go and you did just the opposite. All of you defied my orders." 

"Listen, Matty, you have every right to be angry but it's Murdoc. If we would've caught him then he would've escaped anyway. And Mac would've lost someone that he loves. How would you face Mac then?" I try to reason with her though I have a feeling it won't work too well this time.

 "Well, didn't I say that we would save the girl anyway?" Matty says angrily.

 Before I could add anything Riley quips in, "Listen, Matty, with all due respect, you weren't there, Jacelynn's hands were tied behind her back and she was blindfolded. The tank she was locked in was filling up with water. Even before Murdoc threw the smoke grenade the tank had filled up completely and she had stopped moving inside the tank. When she fell out, she wasn't breathing anymore. Her face was blue and the medic declared her dead. She had no pulse. You should've seen the look on Mac's face, it looked like a part of Mac had died inside him. Jacelynn was dead for 2 minutes before she started coughing out the water. And honestly, think about Jacelynn, she doesn't know that we work in this field, this was not a part of her daily life. She didn't even hope that anyone would come to save her. Even her parents were a crying mess at the hospital. So yes, I get it that letting Murdoc go was a mistake but we did it for Mac and someone he loves, and if we had to do it again then we would!" 

Everyone turned to look at Matty but she stayed quiet. 

"Matty.." I looked behind me to see the blonde-haired, specs chick talking, "Please let Mac off the hook for this. It's my responsibility to look for Murdoc." 

I don't know who she was but I was glad. Matty looks stoically at all of us then dismisses us, turning to look at the giant screen. Well, for now, things seemed fine.
