you are caspian's sister in this imagine. enjoy!

---------------------------------------------

it was a perfect temperature night, a few clouds dotted in the twinkling sky as the crescent moon shone bright like a diamond. it was the night before the battle with the telmarines and your uncle, king miraz- and to be honest, you were dreading it.

you never had a good history with him, no one really did. you were pretty much ignored and neglected from attention and your brother caspian was as well, but he had it worse. every time you went face-to-face with miraz, you'd have a feeling of fear wash over you.

you couldn't sleep the past few days, so you decided to run down to the lake nearby the place you all retreated in. you wore a white nightgown that fell to your calves paired with slippers as you silently made your way down to the lake- you brought along your bow and a couple of arrows, just in case. the cool breeze slapped you in the face as you freely ran through the woods, a smile drawing onto your face.

once you had made it to the lake, you kicked off your slippers and drew your dress up a bit so the water wouldn't soak it as you slowly stepped into the water. the moonlight mirrored against the water and the light shone onto your face, making it ten times prettier than it was before. a relaxed sigh that escaped your lips as you decided to sit down on the dull rocks while your feet and legs dipped into the water.

you propped your elbows against the ground and stared up at the sky, admiring the view.

but suddenly, a slight rustle coming from the woods behind you made you immediately leap to your feet and draw your bow, ready to attack anyone who dared creep up on you.

but to your luck, it was just the dark-haired boy you knew and loved, king edmund pevensie. you sighed, lowering your bow and dropping it to the ground. "edmund, you're going to get an arrow pierced through your shoulder if you keep sneaking up on me like that." you frowned, sitting back down on the rocks.

edmund grinned, throwing his hands up and walking over to you. "sorry y/n/n. i just wanted to know where you were, i heard footsteps and followed you here."

"speaking of which, what are you doing here? shouldn't you be resting for tomorrow?" he asked, looking at you curiously.

you shrugged, avoiding eye contact with the boy and gazing into the lake. "i was so nervous i couldn't even sleep so i ran down here to calm myself down." you crossed your arms around your shoulders, shivering from the cold breeze. edmund noticed this and took off the light blanket that he brought along and wrapped it around you instead.

"i see. well, i'm a bit nervous too. this is the first battle i've been since i came back and my skills are worn out, so it isn't likely i'll be the greatest." he admitted. you smiled at his kind gesture and listened to his words. "well, your first battle was when you were only a child. you've grown and have shown great improvement, plus, you're like the greatest swordsman in narnia!" you exclaimed, nudging him lightly. "you'll do excellent, ed. i know it." you assured softly, looking into his eyes as he looked into yours.

edmund smiled, appreciating your encouraging words and nodded. "yeah, i'll do great. better than you, even." he cheekily grinned. there goes his sarcastic ego. you rolled your eyes and slapped his shoulder playfully, a giggle emitting from you. "hey, don't get so cocky. you might be the greatest swordsman, but it doesn't mean you can compare with me!" you boasted, suddenly leaping to your feet.

edmund got up too as he watched you grab a long and sturdy stick from the ground. a wide smirk grew as he knew what you were implying and he too grabbed a stick, getting into a defensive position. the two of you spent half the night fooling around and playing swords, laughing and shrieks coming from you guys.

"y/n, we should really get some rest." edmund wheezed, trying to recover from laughter. you giggled, nodding slowly as you rose up to your feet. "yeah, we should. this was fun eds, we should do this again sometime." you smiled, watching him look up at you. "yeah, we should." he breathed, standing close to you until your faces were only two feet away from each other.

a silence washed over you two as you gazed into his brown eyes, suddenly forgetting everything around you. edmund looked at you too, seeming to forget that they were still in the wild. "i'm really glad i got to spend time with you." he breathed, his lips parting as your cheeks turned red. your moonlit face sparkled in edmunds eyes and he couldn't wait any longer.

his lips pressed against yours and you immediately melted into the kiss. you felt the stress and weight on your shoulders immediately wash away as you sank deeper into the kiss, both of your lips playing in a rhythmic matter.

you two pulled away out of breath and took a minute to process what just happened. "i'm taking that kiss as a sign that you like me?" you said, breaking the silence and raising a brow playfully. "yeah, and i'm guessing you do too, judging that you didn't immediately pull away?" you giggled and pulled yourself into his arms, burying your face against his warm chest.

"of course, silly."
