A year later
HeDi and Yue are strolling around the Village looking for supplies. They walk hand in hand, telling secrets to each other, sharing sweet and complicit glances. HeDi even kisses Yue's hair and forehead often for whatever reason because he cannot stay away from his beloved elf.
They look happy and more mature. They are both 22 years old now and they have been lifemates for a wonderful year. Their bond as a couple is as strong as can be, but the daily eclipses have not brought them any little warriors, yet.
From a tent nearby, the Healer and her husband observe the pair carefully. When Yue turns around, her eyes meet the Healer's, and she signals her to come.
"Lovebirds... You look so cute walking hand in hand. Come inside..."
The Healer starts to ask the young couple personal questions and HeDi glowers.
"Why all the questions?"
Something suspicious is going on and he demands to know what it is.
"See, if you are truly mingling as often as you say you do, all those eclipses should have gotten her pregnant by now."
HeDi and Yue turn rapidly towards one another with wide eyes. So, the eclipses are the way babies appear inside a woman.
The Healer invites Yue behind a curtain to examine her, but HeDi does not leave her alone and follows them. He promised he would never leave his YuYu and he will keep that promise.
The Healer checks Yue, and the conclusion is that, physically, she appears to have an incredibly strong body.
They leave the examination area and then the woman poses more questions.
"So, you don't have a bleeding with every moon?"
"No, I get them sporadically. Is that bad?" Yue replies a little worried about this whole issue.
"It's ironic that a Moonlighter would not get her moon cycles as nature intended, but I have a solution..."
"Does that mean I will become pregnant?"
The Healer smiles and nods.
"Is it so bad if we don't have children?" HeDi asks.
"You two are the new founders of your people. You are meant to have offspring. Yue is a robust woman; she will bear many children. You will be a tribe of warriors again. The Planet needs you. Besides, you will love your big family! It will bring you enormous joy!"
"Many children?" Yue's eyes are big and alarmed.
"Yes, both of you are young and strong. You will have a beautiful and huge family. I can predict 6 or 7 pregnancies... That is why you need to take this."
HeDi gulps. "How many pregnancies?!"
"Look around you... Healthy women bear 4 or 5 pregnancies around here. Yue has the healing powers of the river: she will mend immediately after each birth. Besides, if you truly have eclipses as often as you say, you will have several children..." the woman grins.
HeDi and Yue look at each other in bewilderment. They have enjoyed the past year together without enemies, but what if the peace ends?
"How will we fight if we have all these kids?"
"We will have 20 more years of freedom and tranquility. Your last child will be born by then and your oldest will be trained and ready to accompany you in battle. Trust me, this is how it must happen," the Wiseman adds.
The Healer gives Yue and HeDi a mixture that will help them conceive; it needs to be taken today and then a year after she gives birth. They take the first dose immediately, and it seems odd to them that the first bottle has a number 3 on it.
