Hermione grew anxious and angry as time went on, still no sign of the woman she became so attached to in such a short period of time.
Everything and everyone irritated the hell out of her, she couldn't even distract herself with work because it reminded her of the woman who loved piling her with work. She couldn't read because memories of the times in the library kept coming to mind and she couldn't sleep because her bed was no longer comfortable.Hermione had never felt such a pain in her entire life. She felt empty, incomplete...and for the first time in her entire life her grades didn't matter.
Nothing mattered.

"I think your little cub is broken Minerva." Severus said as he took a seat next to the fidgeting woman who's mind was elsewhere.
"What?" She blinks, turning her attention to the man who offers her a tea.
"Just a tea?" She mumbles glancing in the cup.
"I don't think whisky will help you right now, you're a mess as it is."
"You really know how to pick someone up out of the gutter you know that?" Minerva adds sarcastically.
"It's a gift. Now drink the tea, it'll help."
"Will it Bring Bella back?"
"No..."
"Then it won't help."The man sighs, resting his gaze on his lap.
"You know, she's never left me before, not for so long...wherever she goes I'm usually with her...lately though, she's been so distant" Minerva barley whispers, bringing the hot liquid to her lips.
"Minerva..." he turned his head to look at the woman who managed to worm her way into his cold heart.
"So, what little cub of mine appears to be broken?" She changes the subject entirely, not wanting to talk anymore about the girl who held her heart."Hermione Granger."
"Ah yes, Albus did mention she seemed off." She took another sip. Severus frowned, never had he seen Minerva seem so disinterested in the well being of a student.
"You haven't noticed?"
"Well my mind has been occupied Severus, forgive me if I don't pick up on every little detail." She snapped, she sighs, taking a deep breath."That was out of line, it's not your fault that she's gone." Minerva took another sip of tea, she was trying, trying her damn best to hold it together. But she was angry, angry because her supposed friend put up barriers around the school so that Minerva couldn't leave. Angry because he treated her like a fragile bird. Angry because he was standing in the way of her finding her Bellatrix. So angry she hadn't spoken to him once since because she knew or she'd end up doing something she regretted.
She was hurt, hurt because Bellatrix ran away instead of coming to her, she always came to her with problems. Hurt because all she wanted to do was hold the girl but no one would let her leave. Pain wrapped itself around her heart and grew tighter with each passing second, crushing the one thing that keeps her entire body alive.
Minerva was slowly unraveling, despite her efforts to stay intact. She needed to get out of this school.

Minerva noticed Hermione in the hallway, dragging her feet, and her tie was no where insight. She definitely hasn't noticed how much her favourite student has spiralled downhill.
"Miss Granger."Minerva caught her attention,
"A word." Was all the woman said before heading to her office, Hermione Granger in tow.Minerva sat in her chair, her hands entwined together supporting her head as she studied the brunette. Snape was right, the girl definitely seemed off.
"Is there something bothering you Miss Granger?" Minerva asks giving the girl chance to speak if she wanted.
"I'm fine professor Mcgonagall." She lied and Minerva knew it.
"I don't appreciate the lie Granger, if you don't want to tell me I'd rather you say."Hermione couldn't help the deep inhale as her heart hurt at how much this woman just reminded her of the whirlwind that is Bellatrix.
"Miss Granger?"
Hermione swallows, she couldn't say anything because she didn't want to get Bellatrix in trouble, she knew how wrong the entire situation was, but it felt so right. And Bellatrix simply flirted here and there, Hermione was initially the one who took this whole thing further, Hermione pushed it despite Bella's attempts to stop it, but she couldn't help it, it was as if something inside her erupted and all that she wanted was Bellatrix...all she needed was Bellatrix.but Bellatrix had fled...taking Hermione's happiness with her.
Her eyes widen, what if all this was her fault? How many times had Bellatrix tried to push her away but she kept pushing, kept pushing to get what she wanted like she always did.
"She's gone because of me..." Hermione barely whispers, tears threatening to fall.
