I could sense the warm feeling of summer fading away in the distance. This is it, sophomore year, yay...
It had only been a week from when Kol Milson died and as usual Freya Milson was throwing a fit in front of the whole town.
"Alice!" Shouted mom "Don't be late for your first day of sophomore year!" Mom started walking up to me with the sound of her high heels penetrating the floor. *Click Click* "Ohh, I'm so proud of my little girl! You're going to be great, I can feel it!" She winked in a sarcastic way.
I wasn't really in the mood for my mom to swaddle me like a baby so I kept my mouth shut leading to deathly silence. My thoughts were somewhere else and I couldn't blame them, listening to my mom talk about 'how great sophomore year will be' and how 'I have nothing to worry about' was deathlike. I just wanted to go to school, alone with my thoughts. I don't think my mother realizes how much pressure she puts on me with all these hollow words and empty sentence on 'how great' I will have to be, just to prove that our family is better than the Milsons. I don't want to prove anything to anyone anymore; this rivalry has been going on between the two families for ages! I can't even look at Freya or else her family thinks I'm planning something. I'm just waiting until something else happen to the Milsons' and the blame will land on me...
Sorry for the short chapter! I am really trying and I want to see if anyone will like to read it in continuation... Please put your opinion in the comments!
