Vaan sat on the chocobo with Penelo, he watched Ashe and Basch pass them on their chocobo and shivered at the wind. "When will we get there?" He frowned.

"Soon, we must get there as quickly as possible." Ashe proclaimed.

"Can't we take a break..? Please? It's so cold.." he looked at his fingers. "Can't feel my fingers anymore..." he looked up at her.

"No! We must keep going." She yelled at him.

Vaan flinched and went quiet.

Balthier flared a little at the princess. "I don't think a little break would hurt princess, better we take a little break than having us KO when we make it to the Stillshrine right?" He smirked and looked up at her.

She glared at him and looked away. "Fine, but we leave as soon as possible." She climbed down from the chocobo and watched Basch and Fran set up the camp.

Vaan looked over at Balthier and walked over slowly. "Balthier..?" He said softly, shivering.

Balthier quickly turned around and took off his vest, putting it on Vaan. "Here."

"Thank you..but..I just wanted to ask something." He held onto the vest.

"What would that be?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Well..I actually wanted to thank you..for backing me up.." he looked up at the pirate.

Balthier glanced over the campsite, giving Fran a quick signal that he would be back and grabbed Vaans hand and lead him behind a rock.

"Balthier? Whatre we doing here..?" He shivered.

Balthier took his hand and laid it against Vaans cheek. "Keeping you warm, what else?" He smirked and kissed him lovingly.

Vaan looked up at him in shock and kissed back slowly, he then let go and looked up at the pirate. "Really..?" He smiled happily.

Balthier chuckled and nods. "Of course." He wrapped his arms around the boy. "Warm?"

"Still cold..but less cold than I was before.." he looked up at Balthier and smiled softly.

Balthier kissed Vaans red nose and chuckled. "Come on, let's get you warmed up." He brings him back to the camp and grabbed an extra blanket and wrapped it around the shivering boy. "There we go."

Vaan looked up and then grabbed his hand, pulling the pirate down next to him and wrapped the blanket around him as well, snuggling close against him.

Penelo smiled happily at her adoptive brother. "Aww."

Ashe huffed and went to bed.

Basch just stared and smiled softly at the couple.

Fran rubbed Vaans back and smiled. "Good luck, he's a troublemaker." She chuckled.

Vaan smiled and nuzzled against Balthier. "Then were perfect for each other."

Balthier kissed his forehead and smiled. "I love you.."
