Chapter Nine: Agreement With Berries
I hummed a sweet lullaby to myself as I picked raspberries of a bush. A stroke of luck for me! A rustling sound came from a nearby shrub, I looked curiously at it before going back to the raspberries deciding it was a rabbit or something. However no matter how many times I tried to shake off the feeling if being watched I just couldn't. My body went rigid when I heard footsteps, as the person tried to tackle me I step back, hands clutching my fans tightly until my knuckles had turned white. He snarled and leapt at me, I squealed and tried to walk backwards but ended up falling in my butt.
"Raspberries. Now," he growled
My eyes narrowed into slits, they're mine.
"No, go find your own. "I stated
He let out a dry humorless laugh.
"In case you haven't noticed, food here is limited."
I rolled my eyes.
"Fine fine. Here," I held out a handful of berries.
Jackson eyes them wearily then in a flash he snatched them and was practically inhaling them. I got up and dusted some dirt off.
"Allies?" I asked cocking my head to the side.
"Sure, whatever." he replied.
I smiled in victory.
