Chapter 5: Love and war

Ariel's POV

Night came around and everyone went back to their own rooms and was prepared to do the ritual. Aunt Elia cast a spell on everyone that link their subconscious with mine so they could see what I dream. After that, we all went to bed. As i close my eyes, I was immediately transported to the same dream. However, tonight's dream is clearer.

I'm on the battlefield but it seems that I was chained or restricted by something. A hooded figure stood in the middle laughing madly with something glowing in his hands. I tried hard to see what it was but all I could see was that it was a rock of some sorts. I don't know. I then heard cries and screams. I looked around, familiar faces lie unconscious on the ground, I see Haley reaching her hand to me and I reached back but to no use. 

The hooded figure turned and said "you know, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have been able to obtain this power. If only they listened right? This wouldn't happen. I gotta say kid, you being born as the child of prophecy is a miracle for me. Why? Because of you, I get to spread darkness to everyone. May we meet again child." He laughed as he disappeared into thin air. I felt something rushing down my face, what was it, tears? No. They were blood. 

All of a sudden, I'm transported into a white room. A voice calls out to me. "listen to me child, follow the path that you believe is right even if others won't follow you. The reason you were chosen to be born as the child of prophecy is because you are the only one who can turn your pain and weaknesses into strengths and defeat the spread of darkness." At this point, I was ready to just wake up but I ask the voice "who are you? Who was that hooded figure? What did I do that cause the darkness to spread?" the voice answered, "so many questions but yet so little time. In time, everything will reveal itself to you. Just remember, believe in your heart and follow its guide." After that, everything faded out.

I immediately opened my eyes and quickly looked around, a breath of relief escape me when I realized I was still at Aunt Caroline's house. I hear multiple footsteps rushed to my room and next thing I know, everyone crowded the doorway. Michael and Lizzy were the first to break the silence, "WTF was that!?" The only response I could muster was a shrug of my shoulders and just a million questions in my head.

Haley's POV

Evening came around, and dinner was gonna be served soon. All the royals gathered round and started chattering until dinner was served. After dinner, the children under the age of 18 were to make their way to the play area as the discussion was meant for adults.

My parents started the discussion off. "there seems to be an unidentified threat. Apparently, someone has been digging the graves of our ancestors. Initially we thought it was just a grave robber. But, we found out that there is actually a corrupted gem buried with one of our ancestors and we have reason to believe, this threat is trying to obtain this gem." 

Someone then voiced out "what happens if the gem is stolen?" and King Shade answered, "then darkness will be spread. The only 2 beings who could wield darkness is one of the ancestors who founded Mystic Realm and the Supernatural world, while the other is none other than my niece Princess Ariel. If per say the gem is stolen, and this threat manage to somehow find a way to use either Ariel or our deceased ancestor to wield darkness, then all light will be consumed and darkness will reign terror across the land." 

After hearing that, my first thought was what!? I then asked, "what would happen to Ariel if this gem is used?" Queen Shade then looked at me with a sad look, "Ariel will be a host for the dark but knowing that she has a heart of gold, she would definitely do something that would save and protect the entire realm while preventing darkness from spreading... Even if it kills her."

Hearing that, my heart stopped. I knew this threat is bad news. I just didn't know that it might kill my girlfriend, well ex-girlfriend but she will become my girlfriend again and future wife. Not the point but I must make sure Ariel is protected at all cost. No matter what.

All while I was thinking that, I was brought out of my thoughts when my dad said "Mark, Grace, please contact Ariel and tell her to come home. She's not safe out there, we must protect her at all cost because Heaven knows what might happen to her." King and Queen Shade nodded and proceeded to leave the meeting to call Ariel. I really hope this threat is just a mere grave robber, I can't lose Ariel or anyone to this threat. Guess we just have to see what fate has in store for us all. May the beings in Heaven be merciful to us.

Unknown POV

"Damn it, where the hell could this stone be!!!!"

"Boss, we've dug every grave, the stone just doesn't exist."

"No! It does exists, we just have to keep looking and when we find it, the Supernatural world will bow to us, the wielders of darkness!!!" *laughing menacingly and madly*

Ariel's POV

"Yeah, okay..I know, I'll see you guys tomorrow. Yes, I got it...bye." I ended the phone call.

"Your aunt and uncle?" Aunt Carol asked. "Yeah, they need me to go back to the Academy. Need to talk to me bout something." I said. "I see, well, tonight make sure you get some early sleep, okay? And after lunch, you can do some training with Michael and Lizzy." Aunt Carol said. I just nodded and continued eating lunch.

Why do I get the feeling that I'm gonna get in trouble back at the Academy. *sigh* whatever, I don't care. Once I get to the Academy, all I need to do is avoid parents, avoid siblings, avoid annoying popular royal people (my siblings and Haley's squad), and last but not least, avoid Haley because Heaven knows that I'm still in love with her. This is gonna be easy right? *not so confident laugh* well shit......
