Chapter 4: Difference in family

Ariel 's POV

After almost an hour of napping, I woke up from voices downstairs. Immediately I shot up out of bed and ran downstairs. I guess I made a lot of noise since literally I see 6 pairs of eyes looking at me now. Without thinking I jumped into the arm of the first person I saw which was my aunt Caroline who raised me as if I was her own daughter. Aunt Caroline is a vampire that found me and saved me once when I escaped from my first abduction. I was injured and lost a lot of blood. I couldn't have made it without her. She gave me a bit of her blood which in turn gave me vampire qualities making me more of a freak than I already was.

"Aunt Caroline, I'm so happy to see you. I miss you. Sorry it's been awhile since I last visited" I said to the vampire who was hugging me. "I miss you too kiddo. How are you? I thought you were suppose to go home to the academy?" she said. "I was. Which is why I'm here. I'll explain everything later on but for now I wanna hug the rest of you I miss you guys." I replied the proceeded to hug the others. I went over to aunt Elia who is aunt Carol's wife and also a witch. Then I went to hug uncle John and uncle Lucas who are aunt Carol's brother and brother in law. Then I went to hug brother Michael who is aunt Carol and Elia's son. Then last but not least Lizzy their daughter. Both Michael and Lizzy are half vampire and witch and they are also twins. I look up to them as they are like my older siblings.

We made some small talk until the caretaker of the house Mrs. Roswell announce that lunch is prepared and that we should make our way to the kitchen. There we continued catching up until aunt Elia ask why I'm not at the academy. I told them everything from when I arrived at the academy to my not so subtle outburst on my ex-girlfriend. "wow, that's rough kid" uncle Lucas said. "yeah, but not only that though. I've actually been getting these nightmares. I say nightmare but they're actually more like disturbing prophecy about a huge war, this guy or girl maybe who has something in their hands." I started saying and as I look at them they were invested with what I was saying so I continued, "the dunk in these dreams is that, I always have to make a choice, I die and the world lives or humanity cease to exists. Cliche I know but its been bugging me since a few months now. This morning when I dozed off in the car on the way here, I didn't dream of anything like that but I dreamt about my past, well mainly Haley." I said while rolling my eyes a bit. Aunt Carol then told me to go on. So I continued and said "well, I dreamt Haley took me to a picnic and it was when she gave me our promise rings. Then suddenly everything shifted to the night I ended our relationship then suddenly Haley looked at me with dusgust and hatred. She even called me a freak. It was getting too much until a voice called out to me and told me the world is in danger and I'm the one who needs to stop it and that my only clue is from the Royal Union and they could answer my questions. So yeah that's about it." Aunt Elia was the first one to respond and break the silence, "well that certainly is something. How about this kid? You and I do a dreamjump ritual tonight. That way, we can be with you and see this nightmare or prophecy." " yeah, I'm down to do the ritual." I said. All of us looked at each other an nod agreeing to the plan. " All right then." Aunt Carol said.

Haley's POV

Great I just had to open my big mouth and annoy Ariel. Gods what is wrong with me?!

After Ariel's outburst, I was stunned for awhile only snapped out of my state when the maids informed king and queen Shade that Ariel already left with Anthony and the limousine. I quickly went to queen Shade and beg them for Ariel's number and after awhile the gave in and gave me her number. I kept calling her but it always became a missed calls. The king and queen Shade were also trying to get a hold of her but it seems they couldn't get through to her as well.

My friends and Ariel's siblings tried to comfort me but all it did was made me lose my mode. So I told them and my parents that I'm going to my room.

Lunch came around, and the only thing running through my head is Ariel. Mom and dad came to my room to bring me food and they also informed me that Ariel notified king and queen Shade that she have arrived safely but she didn't mentioned where. Mom and dad told me its okay and hopefully sooner or later I'll get my chance to talk to Ariel again. For now they told me to have lunch because in the evening, there's going to be a big meeting about an unidentified threat that could potentially lead to war and I hope to the heavens it doesn't because I got a feeling that the outcome is one that I would like to avoid for some reason.
