Hands gripped tightly around my throat as I was awoken, gasping for air. They were dainty, female certainly and exceptionally tight as they squeezed at my throat. I was on my front, their body pressing tightly into my back in an attempt to stop me moving as I lied still, allowing them to continue their actions. They couldn't have been on long as I grabbed the knife that from under my pillow slowly, listening to the person grunt in effort from on top of me.

Kicking my legs up I caught them by surprise, my booted foot connecting with the back of their head as they let out a scream. I quickly got to my knees, wrapping a hand around their mouth and bringing my knife to their throat. With a quick motion, I was covered in splatters as blood, letting the delicate body that rested on top of me fall to the ground under my tarp.

"Well shit," I growled to myself as I looked at the bloody body below me with a huff. Her skin began to pale as like rushed from her body, blood gathering in the dirt below her. Her eyes paled as she stared up at me, the blood pouring from her throat making it look as if she was still breathing. The ground underneath her seemed to glow slightly and drink her blood up greedily as it did so. Wiping the blade on my pants I grabbed her wrist. The emblem was clearly present, The Order had sent her to dispatch me.

I moved past her body silently as I thought it best to check on the others. The moon glowed brightly in the sky, lighting our small camp and the spring in a beautiful blue glow. Had it not been for the dead body in the tent it would have been a rather serene night. I crept over to Marigold's tent and noticed her sleeping softly, thankful for her safety at least. Xand and Ero were in there too, curled up at the back of the tent as if they were spooning one another. It was enough to force a laugh out of my throat as I saw them.

I turned quickly as I heard the rustling of a tent behind me, holding the knife out as I saw a head emerge from the shit.

"The hell are you doing up Wolfie?" Milo's gruff voice called out to me as I let out a shaky breath. I didn't know why I was so on edge, it was as if I had never been in a situation like this before. Yet I knew there was more to it than that. She had been too young and inexperienced, to send her to me would be to practically sign her death warrant.

"Dead body, my tent. She tried to kill me," I hissed quickly to him as I caught sight of Nasgar sleeping in his tent, glad that everybody par from me was safe.

"Shit, did you touch her after you killed her?" Milo whispered, voice hoarse from sleep as he scrambled out of the tent over to me, only in his boxers. He was an impressive sight, that was for certain, though I pushed that thought to the back of my mind as I looked over to him.

"Yes, why?" I whispered back as we both crept slowly over to the tent. There was anticipation lingering in the air as we moved closer.

"Because you dummy, necromancy is illegal. These lands are so charged that one touch from somebody with your power would be enough to bring her back to life. Xandro, by orders of the Queen and of these lands, would have to kill you. He'd be left with no other choice Flynn," Milo huffed as he ran a hand over his hair with a groan, looking over to me. We both felt the helplessness wash over us at that moment as my stomach dropped. It would likely mean that I would have to kill Xandro myself if I had been so dumb. Looking at me, Milo grabbed my hand tightly, giving it a squeeze as he grabbed hold of the tent door. His palms, like mine, were clammy with our nerves as I screwed my eyes shut.

I heard him rip open the tent door, letting out a long sigh as he looked over to me.

"She must have still had a hint of life energy in her when you touched her. That is as dead as dead can be," he muttered, pulling me tightly to his side to wrap an arm around my shoulder as I let out a shaky breath. Looking at her, the body was completely pale now and looked to be exsanguinated fully. I moved started moved shakily over to the fire but was pulled back tightly into Milo's arms.
