The throne room was a gorgeous array of white crystal and warmed stained glass, depicting the tale of the fae. I was stunned by their complexity and their beauty, a smile slipping on my face as I looked at them, noticing the one of Xandro. I felt his hand slip around mine, tugging me forward toward the glass table in the middle of the room. His mother sat at the head of it, with two seats on either side of her. Xandro pulled out a chair for me, allowing me to sit on it as I bit my lip before the same icy expression as even appeared on my face.

"Now, as you know my dear son, Astaria is the original realm, through which all of humanity and all Supernatural beings once arrived. If there is disorder here, then there is in the other realms too," she noted softly, her voice smooth and brilliant. I was stunned by her beauty too. She looked our age, and though I knew she had immortal life, I hadn't expected her to look this stunning.  Her words made sense too, I had noticed a shift in our balance, I was killing far more than normal in my realm. I could feel it in my soul too, in my Magi roots, there was the pull of something dark that had not been unleashed for many aeons, it was the only thing that had given me a sense of fear since I was born.

"There have been shiftings in the energy around the only Necromancer grounds, we believe they are being restored and revived within the core, and that some have already surfaced within the human realms. There have been reports of Zombies in the swamps of America and the hills of England." Victoria began, her voice gentle and soft as she pulled forward a map of the humans' known world, filled with glowing lights that had represented all of the locations the beasts had been spotted. I had seen a Zombie only once, years ago when I had killed the last of the Necromancers.

"We have gathered a small group of powerful consorts from across all of the kingdoms and we hope that you will work together with them to destroy the threat," she hummed softly again as she took her son's hand gently. I could see the affection between them. Xandro had been with me in our realm for many years after choosing to be an informant for the Magi, something I knew Victoria felt scorn over.

"Then we shall rest up tonight and in the morning we will meet your band of misfits and create an action plan," Xandro said, looking towards me with the gentlest of smiles as I nodded my head only once. I didn't have much of a say, and though I preferred to work alone, I was happy that I at least had the company of Xand to see me through this.

"Yes, my son, please go and prepare your room, I would like a word for a moment with Flynn." She smiled gently. I did not give my nerves away, I simply remained where I sat with the icy blankness on my face, feeling Xand leave swiftly, giving my shoulder a squeeze of comfort as he passed me by, winking down at me. He was far too cheerful for my liking. We had just been told that the orders of the world were crumbling, and all he could do was give me a cheerful smirk.

"There is blood under your nails, your hair is cut short and your eyes are of a striking yellow, none of which belong to a Princess of the Magi," she hummed the moment he was gone. Her beauty was still there, but her smiling exterior had been replaced with something far stonier and icy.  She grabbed my wrist, looking to the wolf brandished into the skin that I had been so desperate to hide from her.

"An assassin with mixed blood I am certain of it," her nail sliced my wrist, spilling my blood, a darker scarlet than most humans, a signal of my ancestry, and sweet-smelling rather than the usual copper. The doors swung swiftly open and a man marched into the room, tall and brilliantly well built, skin dark and highlighted with a topaz glow against the light ruby tinted skin of the Queen next to me. I saw the teeth before anything else, sharp as needlepoint and brilliantly white, just like Xand's- his father I was certain of it. Despite my knowledge that I was sat between a vampire and a fae, the natural enemies of my weremagi halves, I felt a sense of calm overwhelm me.

"Who is this creature?" He asked gently, voice deep and low, a gravely rumble as he swiped his finger across the blood, tasting it with a perk of dark, bushy eyebrows. Ivan was his name, and he was many centuries old now. Vampires were forbidden from mating, and so Xandro's birth had been an abject horror in the Supernatural world. Even so, I was thankful that I had him, we were little horrors together.

"A weremagi?  Rare and of Royal blood certainly," he grinned with a deep laugh, wrapping an arm around the petite Queen who smiled up at him with a beautiful large grin. My heart stopped at the name, feeling it clench as I looked to them with wide eyes. They had found me out before our mission had even begun, and as much as I loved Xandro, I would not be subject to torture or attempted murder even at the hand of his parents.  I was preparing to take my leave, eyeing the glass window which faced the cliff and the waters below, if necessary I would jump.

"You are beautiful. My son has picked his bride well. My son raves about you Flynn, about your power and poise, your Mother has brilliant Magi blood of course, and your Father the leader of his pack," he chuckled gently, referring to the parents I had never met. I had raised myself and had known nothing of my parents, my lack of knowledge regarding my past being a thorn in my side that my Aunt  Katrina had always held against me. Hearing the mention of my parents I

"I fear you are mistaken, he lied to you both about the engagement and the nature of my birth, we are not to be wed. Regardless, that is the last thing on my mind at this moment. the uprisings need to be dealt with before anyone emotions," I muttered softly, thinking to the years of rejection I had subjected Xandro to, and how I knew deep inside that he was the only man that I could possibly ever love if I dared to. He had always been sweet, and never false in his intentions. He was perhaps the only person who hadn't used her and thrown her aside as if she was nothing.

"And that determination is the very reason you have been hired. We are relying solely on you and how you lead the team. On a softer note, once this is all over we hope you will be considerate of Xandro and his feelings, there is only so much rejection our boy can take," Ivan chuckled gently, nodding to his wife as I let a small smile slip past my lips, a tension easing slightly from my shoulders as I looked to then both.

"Do not fail your mission, you are the most calloused and most practised in the group, the natural leader. Do what you must to ensure your safety. Now please, go to Xandro, I am sure he will be most happy to see you," Victoria smile gently at me. I nodded at her, curtsying quickly before I made my escape back through the doors and up the stairs, hoping that I would come across the room eventually. My head hurt with all that had just happened, the affairs most quick and astounding, and of the greatest nature. I sighed, heart warm, soaking in the feeling for once. I prayed to whatever the hell was there that all would be well, for peace was our guiding light now, and the only one I would follow.
