"Ms. Brown, I have to graduate on time. I have to get accepted to U of M," I said. She shook her head. "Is it even serious enough for 3 weeks? She ain't even start it," Terren pointed out. "At least give me two," I said.
She looked at the computer. I guess she was looking at my file. It wasn't shit in there she could hold against me. "I guess I could cut a week off, but you won't be on the dance team anymore," she said. "Fine. Okay," I said back. I was losing interest in the team anyway. "Okay." She took the slip back and changed the dates. "I bet not ever see you in here again... Either of you," she said.
...
"Look at you," Terren said as he walked me to my locker. "I know. I know. You told me to let it go, I don't wanna keep hearing it, Terren," I replied. "Well..." he said leaning on the wall, "What you gon do for 2 weeks at home?" I shrugged. "Slowly die," I said. "Oh c'mon, baby. You acting like all this the end if the world. You want me to go home with you?" I nodded. "Please do," I said.
