Work
"Oh my gosh, Royce. I'm so happy you back. The fucking kids drive me crazy," Kandy said as I signed my name on the sign in sheet. I smiled. "Me too, but I need this money more than ever now," I told her as I got the breakfast cart ready. All they had was fruit and milk on the cart this time. It's usually some sugary shit.
"Hey, kids," I came into the play room and made sure everyone sat down. "Where was you, Ms. Royce?" Carter (a boy in the class) asked. Whenever he's there, he's the most well behaved, and he's only 3. I picked him up. "I had to take a break, Carter. But I'm back now. Do you want a snack?" I said. He nodded. I sat him in a seat next to Randy and sat everyone's food down.
...
"It hurts to know that my own students hate me and love you," Kandy said. I laughed . "They don't hate you, Kandy," I told her as I cleaned the tables off after breakfast. "Whatever," she said. She walked out into the hallway. I turned to the kids.
"You guys like Ms. Kandy, don't you?" I asked. They all shook their heads. "Nooo," they shouted. I gave them a surprised look. "Why?" I asked. "She's mean," Kelly said. "Then why do you guys like me?" I asked. "Because you're nice, Ms. Royce," Carter said. I blushed. "Aww thank you guys. But let's try to be more nice to Ms. Kandy. Would you guys want somebody being mean to your mommy?"
They shook their heads. "Well Ms. Kandy is someone elses mommy," I said looking on the shelf for a movie for them to watch. They usually always pick Finding Nemo but I wasn't feeling it today. "How bout we watch Brave," I said. They agreed.
